This contains a lot of false information. The current president of Texas Tech preaches about student experience, but went out of his way to ignore the The Office of Governor Greg Abbott to have a meeting with a disease specialist, a disabled student and the board of regents to accommodate the student. The current president also does not promote "State of the Art" facilities. The truth is far from it. Under the current leader Texas Tech Leadership, he has single handedly perpetuated systemic discrimination of students, not funded or promoted disability inclusion and accessibility across campus, students are threatened when they inquire about filing disability grievances which means the due process at Tech is comprised and the administration is ripe with corruption where systems meant to help students, work against them. This "CAMPAIGN FOR TEXAS TECH" has witnessed the university and president block off ADA Parking and access to facilities to students, disabled students being ticketed for parking where they needed to access buildings amidst and already low amount of ADA Parking, none working door buttons, and a lack of ADA buttons, combined with desks that pull out patients life sustaining medical lines. What does the president of Texas Tech do in response? He hides behind legal teams, ignores state authorities and representatives, and produces legal documents against disabled students with false information to cover up systemic discrimination to try and keep Texas Tech from undergoing a federal investigation. Students of Texas Tech deserves a president that cares about the students instead pursuing self preservation at the expense of the attending students. Do not be fooled by the current administration, even I have been lied to and done underhandedly while administration covers their tracks. Students at tech have a voice and say in who is their president, and it is high time someone who does not discriminate against those with disabilities takes office over the current.
Texas Tech, you are in the medical hub of West Texas, let your disabled students learn and have access to campus and education, and hold yourself to a higher standard even if it means putting a substantial amount of your stock into revamping the campus into an innovative ada accessible campus across all buildings. Even your SDS office is nearly impossible for patients with heart and lung or mobility complications to access, it's a shame and you should and can do better with the right leadership.
At Texas Tech, our legacy burns bright.
Together, we ignite the torch and shape the future that lives On & On.
