There is immense amount of talent left on the table when internationally trained professionals cannot practice in their industry. Thanks to the partnership with Spring Institute for Intercultural Learning and Colorado Workforce Development Council, we are drawing out that talent to benefit our economy, society, and most importantly, individual lives. Working directly with Reza, I continue to learn a few things: 1) Everyone's journey is unique. Take time to listen and seek to understand the unique barriers, strengths, and personalities of individuals. 2) Connections are vital. Arriving in the US, people have limited networks. I witness unmatched benefit when my participants get a warm hand-off to other local non-profits, government agencies, education institutions, and simply good-hearted community members. We need each other! 3) Good policies and programs can provide the avenue and resources that might otherwise not exist for specific populations, such as internationally trained professionals who are ready to fill workforce gaps and contribute to our communities. We need more! Most importantly, well done to Reza! Even though there is a still a long way to go, your dedication and passion is inspiring!
Read Reza's story about how he was able to develop a plan for rebuilding his career and navigating his new life in a new country, thanks to help from the Spring Institute and the CWDC Career Coaching Collaborative program: https://lnkd.in/gN5CSXj9
