According to the American Pet Products Association, Americans spent $136.8 billion on their pets in 2022, which was a 10.68% increase from 2021. Your companions are not replaceable, they are members of your family. During National Pet Day, we here at The Signatry want to support the relationship between you and your furry companion. Here are some of the charities that our donors support that champion your pets: ASPCA: Provides vital veterinary care, responds to disasters, pioneers adoption and behavioral rehabilitation programs, conducts critical animal welfare research, trains law enforcement and shelter professionals, and advocates for more effective laws against animal cruelty. Comfort Connections: Utilizes golden retrievers to create compassionate connections that promote empathy, understanding, comfort, inclusion, and acceptance. This unique bond strengthens human resilience through times of crisis, persistent adversity, and disruptive transitions. Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources: Serves individuals and groups of all ages who have physical, emotional, cognitive, or social disabilities through various equine-assisted programs. #nationalpetday #nonprofit #support

Understanding Donor Fatigue in Animal Shelters and Rescues: The Impact of Constant Donation Requests. This a topic never discussed and with shelters beyond their capacity, the issue is real in saving the lives of vulnerable animals. However, the constant stream of heart-wrenching photos and stories, coupled with urgent pleas for donations to provide critical veterinary care, can lead to a phenomenon known as donor fatigue. This exhaustion stems from being inundated with requests for financial support, often accompanied by distressing images of animals in need. Animal shelters and rescues are faced with the challenge of saving lives with the need to secure funding for their operations. While these organizations rely on the compassion and generosity of donors to continue their lifesaving work, the relentless nature of fundraising appeals can take a toll on supporters. Constant exposure to emotional appeals and urgent calls for donations can desensitize donors and lead to feelings of helplessness or guilt. The pressure to donate in response to heartbreaking stories of dogs in crisis can create “donor burnout”. When individuals feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of donation requests and the emotional weight of these appeals, they may become less inclined to contribute or disengage from supporting animal welfare causes altogether. Remember, they are all pleading for funds from the same resource. it's clear shelters need to be more creative with fundraising by developing relationships at a local level to secure a dependable donation that alleviates stress for the rescue. #pets #rescuesandshelters #petadvocacy #buildingrelationships

If you need to get to those hard to reach places, remember we have #scaffolding and #ladders available to hire. However, If you see a cat stuck in a tree, don't wait until we reopen tomorrow. Here's what you can do today: Assess the Situation Stay Calm Call for Help - Animal control or animal charities. Offer Assistance: If the cat seems approachable and you feel comfortable doing so, you can try to coax the cat down by offering food or a familiar item, such as a favorite toy or blanket. Provide Support: If the cat is unable to come down on its own, try to provide support and reassurance from the ground. Speak softly to the cat and let it know that help is on the way. Remember to prioritise safety at all times, both for yourself and the cat. Avoid attempting to climb the tree or use makeshift tools to reach the cat, as this can result in injury to both you and the animal. 🐈

I love animals. As an only child, nature was my sanctuary (still is) and wildlife fascinated me. And my pets were my best friends; I often preferred time with them over people. Nearly everyone at Point of Reference loves animals as well (found my people). I think an organization's people help define its culture. And when possible, the people and their passions should be highlighted, regardless of how "businessy" they may be. We're #peoplebeforeprofessionals, after all. So this year, featured at #CustomerXCon, we're doing a CMA Pros & Pets contest! You don't have to attend the conference to participate, but all photos will be featured and winners selected to win great prizes. Comment here with your photo and pet name(s)! And I will personally make a donation to the winners' animal welfare charities of choice because, well, I'm an animal advocate as well :) #customeradvocacy #customermarketing #customerexperience #customerengagement #customersuccess #animalwelfare

As an animal welfare charity dedicated to promoting positive animal welfare in New Zealand, we are excited to have ambitious plans. We've just launched our new donations page, and we couldn't be happier to invite our amazing community to join us in making a real difference for our animal companions. 🐾 Every donation we receive, along with funds from the New Zealand Companion Animal Register, directly supports impactful welfare initiatives. Alarming rise in abandoned pets sparks 'crisis point 😨😨😨😨 Animal rescue centers in the UK are facing a crisis due to a sharp rise in abandoned pets, largely driven by the aftermath of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. Many centers, including Bristol ARC and Bath Cats and Dogs Home, are overwhelmed with animals needing complex medical care. The influx of unsocialized "pandemic pups" and rising costs are straining resources, with a 24% increase in animal intake at Bristol ARC. Despite community support, like fundraising efforts, rescue centers are urging owners to seek help early and act responsibly to avoid abandoning their pets. As we paws perfecto cares for pets, so we want to stop people from abandoning their pets and give love and care to them. Today, we’re launching a project that is very close to my heart. As you can probably tell from the things I post, dogs play a huge role in my life. They bring love, joy, companionship – not to mention the proven physical and mental health benefits. Pets in happy homes is a win-win for the pet and the owner. But not all pets have the care they need, with millions of dogs and cats living on the streets or in shelters. In fact, 1 in 3 pets are homeless. That’s why Mars set out, alongside leading animal welfare experts, to understand how so many pets end up homeless. And today, we’re releasing open-source data to not only be smarter with the actions we take, but to help others take action too. Moving from treating the symptoms to really solving the root causes. It's a complex challenge, but understanding the contributing factors is a crucial step so that targeted action can follow. We’re marking the launch with a $500,000 donation to Humane Society International to help fund work informed by the data to support thousands of pets in need. Thanks to the external partners and Associates leading this work and constantly striving towards: A Better World for Pets. You can read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/edwJ8XZq. #abetterworldforpets #stateofpethomelessness #proudlymars

Animal Shelters play a crucial role in our communities, providing care and hope for countless animals in need. Many are at capacity and need our help! Here are some meaningful ways you can support your local shelter: 🐾 **How to Support Your Local Animal Shelter** 🐾 1. **Adopt, Don’t Shop**: The most impactful way to help is by adopting a pet. You give a deserving animal a loving home and free up space for another animal in need. 2. **Volunteer Your Time**: Shelters often rely on volunteers to help with daily operations. Whether it's walking dogs, cleaning, or assisting with events, your time can make a big difference. 3. **Donate Supplies**: Shelters always need supplies like food, toys, blankets, and cleaning materials. Check with your local shelter to see what they need most. 4. **Monetary Donations**: Financial contributions help shelters cover medical costs, facility maintenance, and other essential services. Even small donations can have a big impact. 5. **Foster a Pet**: If you can’t commit to adoption, consider fostering. This temporary care can provide much-needed relief to overcrowded shelters and give animals a better chance at finding a permanent home. 6. **Spread the Word**: Use your social media platforms to raise awareness about the shelter, its needs, and the animals up for adoption. The more people know, the more help they can provide. 7. **Participate in Events**: Attend and support fundraising events organized by the shelter. These events are often critical to their operations and can be a fun way to contribute. 8. **Advocate for Animal Welfare**: Get involved in local advocacy efforts to improve conditions for animals and support policies that benefit shelters and their inhabitants. Your support, in any form, can make a significant impact on the lives of shelter animals. Together, we can ensure these wonderful creatures receive the care and love they deserve. 🐕❤️ #SupportLocalShelters #AnimalWelfare #AdoptDontShop #Volunteer #FosterPets #DonateToShelters #CommunitySupport
