I'm immensely grateful for the extraordinary opportunity I had on August 16, 2023, to participate as a panelist alongside remarkable individuals: Vikram Kumar, John Walsh, Senthil V. and Jagannathan Nallan Chakravarthy . Having a CEO and colleague who emphasize the highest ethical standards, zero tolerance for trust breaches, and the importance of dissent is truly inspiring. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Vikram for entrusting me with this exceptional opportunity. The blend of diverse experiences, the presence of a 2500+ strong audience across five locations, and the palpable energy of the day ignited spontaneous moments that enriched our discussion and left an indelible mark. March marks B Corp month – but what does being a B Corp really mean? Well, for us, it’s our shared culture. It’s a community of peers who see the future as a responsibility, and not just an obligation. It’s a foundation that informs how our community does, and thinks, about the role of business. It’s both a privilege and commitment, and it’s a shared value system. It’s a space that you always always feel welcome. It’s the joy of being around people who get why you do why you do. And above all, it's a collective push to do better. And I had the privilege of feeling this so deeply last week B Lab Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand Assembly 2024 as we explored how we must evolve to meet the challenges that we face as a global community. From the concept of the 100 year business plan that was shared by Michele Wilson and Laura Thompson, to building resilient organisations as led by Malcolm Lazenby, and a very passionate debate about who B Corps choose to partner with in which Nikki Wright (FPRINZ, APR) and Rebecca Smallchua insights are still echo'ing in mind – it was both challenging, affirming, thought-provoking and cup-filling. Kira D., you promised that we’d come away with more questions than answers, and you were 100 percent right! Thank you to the B Labs and Frank Wild team who poured a lot of heart and time into this one. Kira, you’re MC moments were all-time 🙌 and Lucinda Sheppard, you’re vibes were flawless ✨ Andrew Davies and Angie Farrugia, you nailed it – as always. Happy B Corp month everyone! numi was a long time coming, Ricci, Niruban and I had spent years working together, but never as 3 Co-Founders building a company. Over the years we’d worked at companies where we’d seen big personalities ruling the roost, sales people, big billers, over shadowing and over powering others. We’d seen brilliant introverts stifled because they were different. We’d seen those challenging the norm, asking questions about the status quo, shot down in flames. We knew, and we still know, that building a team culture that would stand the test of time would be a) very hard to do and b) an absolute must. This shouldn't be happening, we need to work together to stop this! It's 2024 FFS! Looking back to when I was younger I can think of a few instances when I was bullied at work, nothing major, but feeling belittled and stupid are not nice feelings, and no one should be made to feel like that. If you are in a managerial role, you have the power to stop this happening - ask your colleagues if they are ok, and create a safe space for feedback.

Brand new year and a brand new game on "Midweek Masti"! On the fourth episode of 'Midweek Masti' we played 'All Tied Up'; a simple game to get our colleagues to focus on teamwork, problem-solving, and listen to each other’s opinions. We started off by making all the participants stand in a circle facing inwards and divided them into 7 pairs. We asked them to hold out their right hands and they were tied together with their respective partner's hand. Once everyone were tied up, we gave them a task of wrapping random objects with newspaper. Each pair was timed and the team with the shortest time to complete the task won. "Sometime the greatest strength comes from being intertwined." All tied up reminds us that true teamwork can untangle any challenge. Twists, turns and all the fun, only on Midweek Masti. 🌟What a day!!! Excited to share that I had the incredible opportunity to speak at RecFest UK the largest talent acquisition business festival in the world! 🙏 Huge Thank-you to Glenn Martin for inviting me to the amazing panel he hosted on the Unplugged Stage, which was MCed by Akbar Karenga. I joined fellow panelists Sean Allen Jess Wetton and Matyas Tamasi Carvalho to discuss the transition from I-shaped to T-shaped talent search, emphasizing the importance of diversifying skill sets. For those unfamiliar, an I-shaped career focuses on deep expertise in one area, while a T-shaped career combines deep expertise with broader skills across various areas. 💡A key point I highlighted was how people from marginalized backgrounds often face disadvantages in being hired based on skills that have been 100% proved over and over again, whereas those from the dominant culture are often hired based on their potential and what they might achieve. This disparity can further disadvantage marginalized individuals in T-shaped talent searches. We must look beyond just proven experience and consider potential and attitudes in everyone to truly embrace diversity and inclusion, especially considering that the lifespan of many skills is rapidly srinking to 2.5-5 years. 📜 We also discussed the importance of making diversity and inclusion policies accessible and actionable - developing options as opposed to blanket solutions. 🎉 After the panel, I was pleasantly surprised by how relaxed and liberated the event felt—it was unlike any other professional event I've attended. With glitter, garden games, stilt walkers, and much more, trully more a festival than a business conference! 🤝 It was lovely to catch up with old friends - Daniele Fiandaca and Lee Chambers and make a few new ones. Amongst the fanfare, I had many super stimulating and cool conversations. Two highlights were my chat with Theo Smith about neurobariayons and the benefits for everyone when thoughtful neuroinclusion is implemented; and a fascinating discussion with Sally Pritchett about combining B Corp and employee-owned business approaches, which has a lot of positive aspects for diversity and inclusion. 📸It was also awesome to finally meet Logan McGregor in person - thanks for taking all the actually relevant photos and videos! #RecFest #TalentAcquisition #DiversityAndInclusion #CareerDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth
