New research 🏥🌍 Today, we're launching two reports funded by Wellcome Trust on the often overlooked climate and health intersection. To 'build an NHS fit for the future', the government must address the physical and mental health challenges posed by climate change. Government action is needed to limit and adapt to rising temperatures, reduce NHS costs, improve public health and wellbeing & make our towns and cities greener. On top of that, the toll climate change and extreme weather takes on our mental health is under reported and significant. This isn’t just eco-anxiety, but can lead to PTSD, depression and can worsen symptoms of those with existing mental health problems.
