If you want something to move, it helps to give it a little nudge. But when it is the aviation sector’s green transition that you want to get rolling, a little more than that is needed 🛫 What exactly? One of Scandinavia's largest factories that produces synthetic and sustainable aviation fuel using power from wind turbines and solar panels. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is behind the project, which is called Fjord PtX, because of its location close to the Limfjord in Northern Jutland, Denmark. Here, the PtX plant will utilize renewable energy and CO₂ from a nearby waste incineration to produce green aviation fuel. We are responsible for planning the project and handling all regulatory processes, including the implementation of environmental and nature surveys and the application for the necessary permits. It is expected that all permits are in place, and construction can begin in 2026. Annually, the future plant is expected to be able to produce up to 110 million litres of aviation fuel, which will be more than enough to cover the annual domestic flights in Denmark, which currently consume 30 million litres of fuel. But the plant will not only deliver the first drops of green aviation fuel to Danish aviation. The factory will also produce a range of sustainable by-products for other sectors. Your Cruise Coach: A content writer and journalist specializing in cruise travel, promoting cruising to the world
Sustainability remains the most-talked-about topic at Seatrade Cruise Global. NetZero by 2050 remains a top priority - not only for cruise lines but the entire maritime and shipping industry. As shared by the CEOs of the world’s largest cruise lines, a lot of work remains to be done, and it isn’t easy: 😳 Although over 50% of CLIA cruise line ships have the capability to plug into shore power, only 2% of ports around the world have shore power facilities. 💰 We need renewable energy sources such as green methanol, bio-LNG, synthetic-LNG, biofuel, electricity, and even wind power to be readily available, with a reliable supply, and at competitive prices. 📚 There are currently 10 different and incompatible emissions/sustainability regulations being applied to the maritime industry from governments in different parts of the world, creating extremely complicated and difficult challenges. Tough road ahead! The take away: the maritime industry, the governments, and the communities around the world need to work together in harmony to create a standardized and consistent approach, implement the necessary infrastructures, and support each other to achieve the goal of Net Zero. 🤝 #stcglobal #sustainability

HARTING connects people, machines and cars. We are enabling an electrified future - sustainable and smart! Pushing Performance for new standards in connectivity!
Today we are celebrating the Day for #ClimateProtection in the #IndustrialSector in Germany 🏭🌱 As CEO of the HARTING Technology Group and therefore someone who can actively help shape the German industrial landscape, this day is very important to me. Anyone who has been following me here on LinkedIn for a while will also know that the topic of #Sustainability is not only relevant to me, but also to my entire family. As a “green entrepreneur”, my father in particular laid the foundation for this approach at HARTING. 🌱 With 👉🏼 our own biogas plant, 👉🏼 photovoltaic systems, 👉🏼 planned wind farms, 👉🏼 internal sustainability campaigns, 👉🏼 energy-efficient building renovations 👉🏼 the consideration of sustainability throughout the entire product life cycle of our products we are already doing all we can to keep our CO₂ footprint as small as possible and make our contribution to the sustainability goals of the United Nations. At our German sites, for example, we have been able to reduce our CO₂ emissions by over 90 %. In the past, we have been able to fall 27 % short of certain subsidy targets, thus setting new standards for ourselves. 💪 Awards such as the EMAS certificate (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) confirm that we are on the right track and are already fulfilling part of our global and social responsibility. EMAS is considered the strictest environmental management system in the world and is only awarded to companies that make an effective contribution to environmental protection, thereby saving resources and costs, among other things. It ensures that certified companies like ours fulfill their environmental protection obligations and continuously improve their environmental management strategies. 📈 But of course we cannot face this global task alone and are grateful for associations such as ZVEI e. V. (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association) and all its members! Together, we are striving for the vision of an #AllElectricSociety — the future vision of a climate-neutral society in which all energy is generated from renewable resources and converted into electricity. Furthermore, this vision is characterized by a holistic approach: Sector coupling involves not only the generation, but also the distribution and consumption of energy. The more companies act in concert with us and pool their efforts in the area of sustainability, the more can be achieved here. It is high time we showed ecological courage and made sustainability and environmental protection the focus of our business activities. What counts is both the commitment of each individual company and the collective effort to meet the challenges of climate change and environmental protection. 🤝⚙️ Together, we can advance the idea of an electrified and digitalized society as well as a clean and green industrial landscape every day — who's with us? 🙋🏼 #ConnectingTheAllElectricSociety
