Make EU relevant again! How can we (re)start cooking (silicon) chips in our backyards? Amidst the current geopolitical challenges, working on the EDA ecosystem is a capital efficient strategy to take semiconductor manufacturing back to Europe. Waaaaaaaaaay more efficient than building new fabs for older tech nodes... let's keep the momentum!
📢 Community, we need you! As reported earlier, FOSSi Foundation was tasked with helping the community to define a roadmap for European funding of Open Source EDA tools. We are still in the process of working with key figures from the community on this task, but its time to provide your input! Please find the current draft working document (with quite a few holes in there) here, along with a form to easily provide your input. We are in particular looking for funding opportunities in the form "if we fund $activitiy for $years, $focusarea will improve and $needforeurope will benefit". So, please tell us about gaps and opportunities of open source EDA in your area of expertise! https://lnkd.in/dF5mfMZN 🙏 THANKS!

IEEE Software 2024.04 is out: Well-Being for Resilience: Developers Thrive "This special theme issue is about well-being for resilience—helping us as developers, and colleagues of developers, to thrive. It is so obvious that all of us must thrive in an organization for it to be at its most successful, but why not go all the way and push our societies to thrive as well? We all share the same planet. It starts with us—me, you, the other person on the virtual call or commenting on your post—so let’s show compassion toward one another. Our culture and society may be different, just as we are different, but in this diversity, there are many possibilities for discovery, and with these possibilities we can find better solutions. Together, we can thrive." Sigrid Eldh, Ericsson AB, Sweden https://lnkd.in/d2GPRwG7
