Building Diversity & Inclusion in the Engineering & Construction Industries | Gender Equity Policy Strategist | Supporting Women in Negotiating Compensation | Leading High Impact Workshops | Co-Founder
I'd love to see more corporations setting meaningful goals for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in their leadership. These can be representation targets, but they can also mean thoughtful policies that ensure objective decisions are made. Affirmative action can also take the form of: - a minimum number of resumes from women before a posting is closed - a target gender ratio of candidates selected for interviews - a minimum number of women’s names put forward for upcoming promotions It is a tool used to breakdown barriers and doesn’t always need to be as finite as hiring or promoting a specific number of individuals of a certain identity. https://lnkd.in/eSJREVyi
22% of Canadian distributing corporations have set targets for the representation of women on their boards. -CBCA
