Style Coach™ supporting busy professional women on a Style Coaching™ journey to have a wardrobe that works in all areas of their life every day. Confidence | Personal Style | Empowerment
It’s amazing how we get so used to doing something one way. And when we do it differently it feels so strange and takes a while to adjust and create a new normal. I was thinking this on our recent trip to Italy. We rented a car. When we got in, I was sitting on the right which would normally mean I'm driving. But I was the passenger. My husband was sitting on the left and the driver. It felt strange. Driving on the left hand side of the road is so familiar and automatic. We do it without even thinking. But driving on the right means concentrating and making sure you're both alert. Switching your mind completely and seeing things with fresh eyes. And there are so many things to be aware of and look out for. It's discombobulating. It got me thinking about clothes and wardrobes. Something I think about a lot! How often is it automatic to always wear the same combinations? And use 20% of your wardrobe 80% of the time? Like being on autopilot. But what if you saw your own clothes with fresh eyes? After a recent Colour and Style Session a client told me she was planning to review and monitor which items she actually wears over the autumn/winter period and look at using things together in different ways. Often the first response when you get bored, or think you don't have what you need, is to go shopping. But I help you to look at your clothes with fresh eyes and use what you already have to greatest effect and align with your lifestyle and personal style. Saving you time, money and space. It’s styling magic. Styling…..from the inside out. Supporting professional women and female business owners to dress to express themselves with inner confidence and style throughout life’s twists and turns and in all aspects of their lives. #successfulwardrobe #personalstyle

One of the tips in this article is to 'Buy less, buy better', and I couldn't agree more. Like most of us, I've been guilty of staring into my (I'm ashamed to say) packed wardrobe and saying 'I've nothing to wear'. Even more so over the past couple of years as, thanks to hormonal weight gain, my bodyshape has changed, so my old clothes no longer fitted or flattered me. This was not only frustrating but, at a time when my emotions are already all over the place, it was depressing and confidence zapping. In the past, my remedy was to nip out and buy something - and I HAD to buy something - which meant spur of the moment, cheap purchases from local stores (mentioning no names) with very little thought about their ethics or the quality of the item. This is why my wardrobe was packed.😔 Now, having recently fulfilled a long-held ambition to become a Personal Stlyist 🥳, I now know how to dress my new shape and what colours suit my (vampirically-pale 🧛♀️😆) skin tone. So when I shop, I focus on my personal style, not fashion trends, and spend a little more on classic 'capsule' items, that will last longer, and that I know I can mix and match with other pieces in my (thinned out) wardrobe. Saving me time and money in the long run. If you're feeling similar anxiety each time you open your wardrobe and would like some help, but don't know where to start, please message me, and we'll have a chat about how my services - be it a colour analysis session, wardrobe styling, a personal shopping experience or virtual styling - can boost your confidence and make shopping, dressing, and life in general, enjoyable again. ❤️ #personalstylist #personalshopping #colouranalysis #virtualstyling #menopause #perimenopause #hormonalchange

Traditional shopping can be frustrating -- especially when it comes to finding the right fit. In a recent Stitch Fix survey, we found that 88% of people feel stressed or self-conscious while trying on clothes. To help change that, we've teamed up with body acceptance advocate Katie Sturino to share tips on embracing your body and making shopping more enjoyable. My favorite tip from Katie? "Listen to your body, not the tag." At Stitch Fix, we help people discover clothes that fit perfectly and make them feel great, and with 92% of our clients saying we get their fit right, we're proud to offer a solution that truly works. Are you familiar with this vicious cycle? We often believe that having more clothes will make dressing easier, but in reality, it leads to decision fatigue and closet overwhelm. With the change in season, fall is the perfect time to reassess your wardrobe and take stock of what you have. Start by storing away out-of-season items and keeping only the pieces you love and wear regularly on hand. This simple refresh not only highlights any gaps but also streamlines your morning routine, making it easier and more enjoyable to get dressed each day. ✨🍂 #slowfashion #wardroberefresh #slowburnconcept #stylingtips #wardrobetips #sustainablefashion

Today I am going to talk about how clothing governs how we think and feel about ourselves. The way we dress can impact our self-perception, confidence, and mood. Here's how clothing can function as a nonverbal communication tool that governs our thoughts and feelings: 👉🏻Clothing is a form of self-expression. The choices we make in terms of style, color, and accessories can reflect our personality and identity. Wearing clothes that align with our self-concept can enhance our sense of authenticity and self-worth. 👉🏻Wearing clothing that makes us feel confident and put together can positively impact our self-esteem. Professional attire, for example, may contribute to a sense of competence and authority in a work setting. 👉🏻Certain colors and patterns can evoke specific emotions. Wearing bright colors or patterns that we associate with positivity can boost our mood and create a more optimistic mindset. 👉🏻Clothing that fits well and makes us feel comfortable can contribute to a positive body image. Conversely, ill-fitting or uncomfortable clothing may lead to self-consciousness and discomfort. 👉🏻Choosing clothing appropriate for different social contexts can impact our perceived competence and social ease. Adapting our attire to fit the occasion can contribute to a sense of belonging and social confidence. 👉🏻Clothing can convey cultural affiliations, group memberships, or personal values. Wearing clothing that aligns with one's cultural background or values can strengthen a sense of identity and belonging. 👉🏻Dressing up" for a special occasion or putting on an outfit associated with success can create a psychological shift. The act of dressing in a certain way can transform our mindset and make us feel more capable and empowered. 👉🏻Paying attention to the details of our appearance, such as grooming and accessorizing, can contribute to a sense of self-care and personal pride. It's essential to recognize that the relationship between clothing and self-perception is highly individual. Different people may have different preferences and response to clothing, and personal comfort and authenticity play crucial roles in how clothing influences our thoughts and feelings about ourselves #celebrityimagedesigner #sixyardsareestylist #selfexpression

Award-winning Personal Image Expert Providing Insightful Expertise, training aspiring personal stylists and helping you develop the image that shows your expertise so you are seen as credible, confident and charismatic
As the seasons change it's a great time of year to do a declutter and clear out of your wardrobe as your clothing needs change due to the change in the weather (assuming you don't live in a tropical climate where clothing needs to remain pretty similar all year round... but if you do live in a wet/dry climate there are still some great tips here for you to think about clearing out your wardrobe on a semi-regular basis). One of the reasons that most people start a new diet on a Monday or we love the idea of New Year's Resolutions is that it's the Fresh Start effect. Beginning a new season with a decluttered wardrobe feels like a fresh start, symbolising new beginnings and opportunities. So as the month click's over and the seasons change, I'll be sharing with you some great reasons to do a declutter so that you can be more stylish more easily. #changeofseasons #declutter
