With Climate Week coming up, it's very fitting to release the Plant-Powered Carbon Challenge first annual report today! This is a labor of love from Neeti Jain, Kate MacKenzie, and others in the NYC Mayor's Office of Food Policy. There's a lot of good work going on, if you know other signatories who should work with us to reduce their food-related carbon emissions by 25% by 2030, please send them our way! Report here: https://lnkd.in/e3nX9HXN
Looking around the coverage and conversations I see - the #foodpolicy / #climate topic seems to be getting a LOT more U.S. attention - and media coverage -lately! Yes! Also, I'm checking out the schedule for #ClimateWeekNYC on these topics (and noting that the NYT Climate Forward Changemakers luncheon will be all #plantbased!), I am SO psyched to be contributing my #ClimateInfluence expertise to this effort - and working alongside the amazing Neeti Jain! NYC has the lead on this, and a lot of other U.S. city leaders and their teams might want to take a look at the Scope 3 emissions reduction POWER in a program like PPCC. Go team! And, I second Rachel's call: get in touch with us if you are ready to sign on. We are looking forward to "naming and faming" signatories at ClimateWeek and beyond.
How wonderful.
Let’s get NYC to lead the world to a plant powered future :)
💚
Congrats! This is amazing!
Excellent, Rachel! I look forward to checking this out.
