Stevia, the plant behind the natural sweetener that’s 200-300 times sweeter than sugar, is growing strong in a container farm! 🌱 This is our first time growing stevia, and it’s been quite the learning experience. Stevia seeds are tricky 🤧they have a very low germination rate, with only 20-30% of seeds actually sprouting. That means if you plant 10 seeds, you might only get 2 or 3 to grow. Because of this, we had to be extra careful with seed selection and creating the right growing conditions. Are you considering a #seedtreatment? As a #scienceled organisation, all of our products are thoroughly trialled to ensure we are accurately advising growers on the best possible application times for a variety of crops. A germination study at the University of Nottingham investigated how Prosper ST impacted the rate of germination of winter wheat and oilseed rape. For both crops, the results showed that at any given day after treatment, seeds treated with Prosper ST had a higher percentage of germination, compared to the untreated control experiment. The study was conducted at 7 degrees to slow down the speed of germination to ensure the differences between the treatments were visible: https://lnkd.in/egJKZ754
