Coaching independent professionals to master their finances and achieve their goals with my unique FUTURE program. | Life coach and former financial life planner | Published author
How a conversation about setting your home priorities can rekindle security and excitement. Bringing up your children brings with it a certain focus. Nourishing and protecting your young family is your top priority. Sure, other things - notably work - are going on and need to be factored in, but your children have been your primary priority for twenty-plus years of your life. With the kids away at university, working, or bringing up their own families, possibly on the other side of the world, it can be difficult to untangle your new priorities. * From where will I run your home business if I downsize to a smaller house? * Should I head away for a week to look after my grandchildren when Mum is not well and needs me around? * I am not sure I have enough money to retire. Should I carry on working for a few more years? These are common dilemmas for parents after their kids leave home. So, how do you deal with them? Businesses and professions have long had the answer, and this is one of the occasions you could “bring your work home” and think about prioritising your challenges and opportunities. This practice has stood business in good stead, especially when resources of time, money and skills are in short supply. It can work in the house as well. I am fond of telling clients that conversation changes lives, and a conversation about which challenges and opportunities should become your top priority will do much to allay your fears and light your torch as you sense the excitement of pursuing new opportunities. Unfortunately, this conversation rarely happens. Often, no one is around to facilitate and provide a structure for such a conversation. However, it has been part of my armoury, previously as a financial life planner and now as a life coach, for many years. A common comment from parents after having such a conversation with me has been, “In all our married life, we have never talked about these things” and “We now have a greater sense of security, confidence and understanding”. My clients have long told me of the value of such a conversation, which is why I have relaunched the service as the Empty Nest Navigator. Navigator is an opportunity to map your route to wealth and purpose. You can pre-register now for a Navigator in January using the link at the top of my profile. Try it, and set yourself on the path to making your kids as proud of you as you are of them.

YOUR BRAIN DOESN'T WANT YOU TO RETIRE. The idea of moving into a new stage in life makes it freak out. You can help it calm down. Our human brain doesn't like change. At Caring Transitions, we understand the challenges involved in downsizing, relocating, and organizing estates 🏡 To help you navigate this journey, here are five essential tips to ensure a smooth and stress-free senior transition: 1. Start Planning Early ✅ Whether downsizing or relocating, give yourself plenty of time to sort through belongings, make decisions, and coordinate logistics. Begin with a checklist that outlines key steps and timelines, so you stay organized and focused. 2. LinkedIn Top Voice🌟 |Business Development | Employee Relations | Client Management | Learning and Development | Human Resource |
Post of the day: 1. Build a home earlier. Be it rural home or urban home. Building a house at 50 is not an achievement. Don't get used to government houses. This comfort is so dangerous. Let all your family have good time in your house. 2. Go home. Don't stick at work all the year. You are not the pillar of your department. If you drop dead today, you will be replaced immediately and operations will continue. Make your family a priority. 3. Don't chase promotions. Master your skills and be excellent at what you do. If they want to promote you, that's fine if they don't, stay positive to your personal development. 4. Avoid office or work gossip. Avoid things that tarnish your name or reputation. Don't join the bandwagon that backbites your bosses and colleagues. Stay away from negative gatherings that have only people as their agenda. 5. Don't ever compete with your bosses. You will burn your fingers. Don't compete with your colleagues, you will fry your brain. 6.Keep your life, marriage and family private. Let them stay away from your work. This is very important. 7.Pension money is not for starting a project or buy a stand or build a house but it's money for your upkeep or to maintain yourself in good health. Pension money is not for paying school fees or marrying a young wife but to look after yourself. Hope this will help you look at life positively. #positiveimpact #positivevibes #positivemindset #positivementalattitude #likesharecomment
