Career Passions : (1) Some students are indecisive about their ambitions while in form 5 high school. That's supposed to be a very crutial decision. Their parents especially Professionals should guide them accordingly. (2) Even some Undergraduates also are indecisive about their passions while in college years. (3) Some Undergraduates pursuing courses which don't have big job prospects in the Industries. (4) Therefore, whatever your Degrees are, irrespective of which universities, you have to strategize smartly about joining any companies of your interests starting with Internship and Protégé Program. That's ideally the process flow. Try to match your Internship and Protégé with your discipline. Or else it will defeat the purpose. (5) Once you're being employed as a permanent staff or a contract one, then within 1-2 years you might be more certain about your desired passion. Then you may menuever within that company accordingly. For instance in the case of Chemical Engineers, you may choose any of the following career options : Operations / Production Engineer. Technologist Production Planner HSE Officer Training Capability Public Affairs Procurement Turnaround Engineer Project Engineer Risk Management International Marketing Process Designer APC (6) Bear in mind, if you wanna switch your passion from 1 industry to the other, it's unfavourable subject to your relevant working experiences. For instance, in switching from Food Industries into Oil & Gas Big Corporations especially for Engineers. But Accountants or Chartered Accountants are plain sailing to switch from MNC to Oil & Gas Big Corporations. (7) Some Professionals who are already Managers or Senior Managers in SME, Government, Local Corporations won't be necessarily getting jobs as Managers in Oil & Gas Big Corporations. (8) Some Professionals with Master Degrees or PHD might not necessarily securing higher positions in Oil & Gas Big Corporations. They even get the same starting salary as other Graduates.

Ekiti State University Microbiology Graduate with Strong Skills Sets Sights on Global Career in Industry
Internship Experience at Ekiti State Water Corporation Even though it was four years ago, the experience still resonates with me and I believe it's worth sharing. Duration: I completed a 6-month internship at Ekiti State Water Corporation from March to August 2020. Role and Responsibilities: As an intern in the Operations Department, I assisted with daily monitoring of water supply systems, participated in maintenance checks, and supported the team in addressing customer inquiries. I also helped in data collection for performance analysis of the water distribution network. Skills Developed: Throughout my internship, I developed several key skills, including: - Technical Skills: Gained hands-on experience with water treatment processes and equipment. - Analytical Skills: Improved my ability to analyze data related to water quality and supply efficiency. - Communication: Enhanced my ability to communicate effectively with both team members and customers. Projects: One significant project I contributed to was a water quality assessment initiative. I assisted in collecting water samples from various distribution points and analyzed them for contaminants, which helped inform necessary improvements to the treatment process. Challenges Faced: A major challenge was coordinating with different departments to gather data for a comprehensive report. I overcame this by establishing clear communication channels and scheduling regular check-ins, which streamlined our efforts. Learning Outcomes: I learned about the complexities of water supply management and the importance of sustainable practices in the industry. This experience solidified my interest in pursuing a career in environmental engineering and public utility management. Networking: During my internship, I connected with professionals in the field, including engineers and project managers. These connections have provided valuable insights and potential mentorship opportunities for my future career.

Junior Executive - Sustainability and Compliance | Sustainable Tech Enthusiast | Solar Engineer | Member of IMechE | BET Honors (Sustainable Technology) | Entrepreneur
These Three Gave Me These Three 😊 Recently, I had the opportunity to attend three interviews, each offering a unique experience: 1️⃣ Solar Company (Entry-Level Role) I walked in feeling confident, as I have A to Z expertise in solar energy. However, I was surprised to find myself competing against candidates with 11 and 15 years of experience—applying for the same entry-level position meant for fresh graduates. Why is this happening? As a fresh graduate, it’s disheartening to see seasoned professionals applying for positions meant to be entry points for people like us. Where do we go if entry-level jobs now require years of experience? 🤔 2️⃣ R&D Company (Sustainability Role) This one was tough. The interviewer, the company manager, showed little professionalism. He didn’t even look at me during the interview—rotating in his chair, dismissing my answers, and mocking my experiences with a condescending smile. Later that day, they offered me an internship. But I had already completed my internship a year ago, and I’ve worked as a Solar Engineer. It was a frustrating experience, to say the least. 3️⃣ Reputed Company (Executive Role) The best experience of the three! The interview was with the Head of Sustainability for an Executive - Sustainability & Compliance role. From the start, we were on the same page, sharing the same mindset and passion for sustainability. I felt a natural confidence I hadn’t experienced before. It was a professional conversation that reminded me what interviews should truly feel like—respectful and engaging. 💡 Each experience taught me something different. Some doors may close, but others will always open in ways you don't expect. Anyone else facing challenges in finding that right fit? #jobsearch #sustainability #interviewexperience #solar

To ALL industry recruiters and global contacts, I would be remiss if I did not repost this genuine request, below -- I strongly suspect the surname gives a very clear indication as to my personal, vested interest :) As a father, I can personally attest to the analytical vigor, scientific drive and curiosity of this individual .... after all, I have personally helped shape that over nearly a quarter century. His focus and drive to complete any interesting project or mission once it is triggered is unwavering -- what he has done in completely rebuilding/optimizing his own V8 Hemi engine over the recent 11 weeks while still maintaining/completing his ChemE courseload and graduating in May astounds me (perhaps he should have gone into Mechanical Engineering instead of Chemical Engineering?). He is open to relo virtually anywhere within the United States, and potentially a few spots internationally, dependent upon circumstances. Braydon can be reached at braydonmiley83@gmail.com and/or via text at +001.919.902.9572. He (and I) appreciate any assistance, advice, leads, direction, links, referrals you may afford him in beginning his career, whether it be internship, part-time, contract, temporary or full-time entry level. #RTP #chemicalengineering #pharmaceuticals #internship #processchemistry
