Over the past few months, I have been able to gain insights into the future development of the energy market through a number of opportunities. I have made the following personal observations as a result: 1. I know that I know almost nothing... Through discussions with various investors and experts, I am beginning to understand that even major meta-topics such as the energy transition will ultimately be solved in the details. As someone who has no technical background, it is therefore sometimes difficult to tell whether something is fundamentally feasible. 2. Alternative investment hypotheses In general, it is nothing new that new approaches are needed to finance pioneering technologies. However, it is interesting to see how founders deal with this - from financing models that are based on the example of Tesla with upfront payments to project companies that leverage their capital with debt. 3. International framework There are national and international problems, but I now see that the energy supply is a planetary problem. So it only makes sense to interconnect promising teams and enabling capital globally. Which is why I am excited that with D2XCEL we are part of a programme which offers the opportunity to create such a network. So if you agree with my observations, please share the article and become part of D2XCEL!

Managing Partner at Gupta Smart Energy - Putting network resilience at the top of the agenda for water utilities, DNOs and manufacturing to cope with the increasing demands of EVs and renewables.
Before being approached by innovation scouts from Oz, as a possible scale-up, vendor plus investment target, we had not considered entering the Dutch Power Distribution market to assist Alliander to transition to a more efficient, customer centric DNO/DSO by helping their grid become more resilient. These smart "Sons of Skippy" sussed from afar that our Norwegian electromagnetic power quality technology was a suitable candidate solution for Alliander who underpin the Dutch power transmission system. Now we are raring to go and to explore how we might be able to assist The Netherlands' power eco-system that is rich in renewables, like Norway, Scotland, China & Denmark. Our technology corrects voltage imbalance and harmful harmonics up to the 100th harmonic, Ultra and Supra Harmonics in real time, while sampling and relaying up to 4 million bits of power quality data a second. So two new DNO business opportunities for us, one in the UK and possibly one in the Netherlands. Glad my passport is battle ready! #guptasmartenergy #alliander #powerqualityasaservice #startupbootcaamp #electromagneticpowerqualitysolutions #emesnorway
So here I am, back in Amsterdam, reflecting on yesterday's incredible FastTrack event for Alliander's #Powered program in London. 🇬🇧 The spirit of innovation and collaboration was thriving! In true startup spirit, we ran ahead of schedule, then we ran behind and in the end, we finished perfectly on time. Looking back, we saw 9 amazing startups that are making a difference in the Energy Transition. Their determination and efforts to attend underscored the passionate spirit that, in my eyes, defines the startup ecosystem. The sun was shining in London, and so were the startups as they presented their cutting-edge solutions. I'm grateful to everyone who contributed to making the day a resounding success. A special thanks to Robert van der Heijden and the rest of the Alliander team for their support, engagement, and energy. Let's continue to celebrate these moments of connection and innovation. Here's to shining a light on the path toward a more sustainable energy future together. #Powered #corporatestartupcollaboration #openinnovation #Innovation #London #energytransition #energy Gridcog, Neuville Grid Data, OrxaGrid Ltd, Gupta Smart Energy, Advanced Infrastructure, SMPnet, Anqalab ⚡️, Allye, Electron Alliander, Startupbootcamp, Leonie Boelens, Tim van Gemert, Marius Groen, Bob Lucassen, Haike van de Vegte, Robert van der Hidde, Frits Wattjes, Imke de Man, Ferdinand Coster, Wilson R., Emma den Hond

It was great to talk to Executive Digest about EDP Energy Starter - one of our flagship startup engagement programs focused on identifying and scaling cutting edge solutions in clean tech. We discussed the past as much as the future of EDP Energy Starter and it is always motivating when you stop for a moment to take stock of what you and your team have accomplished, of how far EDP Innovation has come and how much Energy Starter evolved over the years. From startups to scaleups, from incubation to biz dev, from theater to impact on shareholder value, from following trends to influencing the ecosystem. It has been quite the treck and the adventure continues in November with our next track which focuses on critical areas to the energy transition such as DER, e-mobility and decarbonization. On June 26, MACP and its partners [Associated Industries of Massachusetts, Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM), Greentown Labs, Massachusetts Business Roundtable, Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, Mass Mobility Hub, NECEC, The Engine Accelerator] had the pleasure of hosting a Competitiveness Conversation on "Massachusetts Climatetech Leading the Charge" featuring a panel of 4 climatetech CEOs sharing their experiences and insights on the industry in the commonwealth. We were honored to be joined by Joshua Aviv, CEO of SparkCharge. A few key points of his included: 👥 Massachusetts has a talented pool of experienced professionals knowledgeable about building cleantech companies, which was a major reason that SparkCharge made the decision to stay in the state and hire locally. 🚗 The Massachusetts climatetech ecosystem is growing: organizations like Greentown Labs and MassRobotics have laid a strong foundation, and we have new organizations like Mass Mobility Hub, which is focused on transportation and mobility, that will help attract more startups to the state. 📈 The Massachusetts climatetech ecosystem is not only growing, but with the right investment (including increased access to capital) can thrive. See the short video clip below to hear why Josh describes Massachusetts as the "superpower" that supported SparkCharge's success.

The ability to partner and collaborate on multiple fronts is essential to the evolution of the future energy system and is central to the success of Chevron Technology Ventures, as CTV President Jim Gable noted this week in the CERAWeek conversation, "Corporate Venture's Role in Supporting Innovation and Startups." Collaboration can help close innovation gaps and integrate emerging technologies into existing value chains. While entrepreneurs have the speed, incumbents have much to add to enable the size and scale of what we need to achieve for a lower carbon future. #technology #innovation #energy #CERAWeek #CWAgora
