The Federal Jobs for STARs Act, introduced on August 12 by Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), aims to remove unnecessary degree requirements from federal job postings and “direct the Office of Personnel Management to review the addition of degree requirements to federal jobs during their audits of hiring actions at federal agencies.” Removing degree requirements has been proven to open more opportunities for qualified workers Skilled Through Alternative Routes (also known as STARs). About half of the American workforce are considered to be STARs, workers who have developed valuable skills through military service, community college, training programs, partial college completion, or on-the-job experience. via https://lnkd.in/evuQw2fC
