Although we like to think that being a #grandparent is always just a fun experience, there are some challenges. If we handle those challenges with good #communication and forethought, we can avoid causing kerfuffles in our relationships with our grandchildren's parents. This week's conversation addresses three challenges that we should all be thinking of and talking about. If you have other challenges than what I discussed this week, what are they? #grandfathers #grandchildren # https://lnkd.in/em6rH5a4

Issue 957 | Will You Regret Not Having Children? In past issues of One Daily Nugget, such as issue 738, we’ve been exploring the pros and cons of starting a family. In today’s nugget, published by the Guardian, Michelle Goldberg explains why she does not intend to have children — and wonders if she’ll regret her decision later. Read on to learn more! On another note: Thanks to the many of you who have filled out our short One Daily Nugget survey! One frequent theme in your replies was a preference for slightly shorter nuggets. Whereas, in the past, we’ve typically used our weekend issues to feature long reads (some of them very long indeed), in the future, we plan to ease your reading load a bit by more frequently featuring shorter nuggets. We hope this will make it easier for you to keep up! Will I regret not having a baby? https://lnkd.in/dE4fXBYz The Guardian • 8-minute read #parenting #lifestyle #onedailynugget

📈 By four months, kittens typically weigh about 4 pounds! 🐾 Newborn kittens weigh just 85-115 grams but should double their weight in two weeks. Around 3-8 weeks, they gain about 10 grams daily. They also need frequent feeding every 2 hours and must be kept at around 85-90°F. Socialization during this period is key: they need daily play sessions to develop coordination and human trust. ⚖️ By six months, kittens undergo spaying/neutering and need high-quality food to avoid becoming part of the 30% of domestic cats dealing with obesity. Scratching posts can cut down furniture damage by up to 84%. Early training using positive reinforcement ensures they adopt good behaviors. 🔍 Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_Jt2NhR
