We've all been there - driving along, when the tire pressure warning light comes on. A screw in the tire! Unfortunately, when my tire was being patched yesterday, cracks were found, and to make a long story short I had to buy four new tires. So, what's the tire disposal fee for on my receipt? Recycling and landfill diversion efforts, of course! Recycled tires can be used for so many things! Here's the breakdown: TDF (Tire-Derived Fuel): Used in power plants and cement kilns. TDA (Tire-Derived Aggregate): Used in public works projects. Rubber Mulch: For playgrounds and landscape beds. Crumb Rubber: For artificial turf fields and athletic tracks. Rubber Powder: To create new rubber and plastic products. Steel: Recycled for new steel products. Fiber and Nylon: Used in stucco, concrete, and carpet manufacturing. So, next time you get a new tire, or four, know that your old ones are being put to good use! #rema #recycledmaterials #recyclingindustry #tirerecycling #tdf #tda #rubbermulch #crumbrubber #rubberpowder #steel
