Recently, I experienced a heartwarming encounter that served as a poignant reminder of the essential aspect of being human. There was a lady I would see every morning on my journey to work for the past 3months or so, and I made it a point to greet her out of courtesy and also my habit of being nice to all persons I come across in life. To the point of asking of the well being of her family, children and husband if she had any, without asking of her marital status. Few days ago, I discovered that she was the wife of an old classmate of mine from years ago. How did I know? I met my old friend who doubled as a classmate with her who introduced the lady as his wife. The meeting with them and the coincidence that we (lady and I) both knew someone special to us, struck me how effortlessly the world has become a global village, intertwining our lives and histories in unexpected ways. The meeting highlighted the importance of treating each individual with respect regardless of their background or status. What if I had showed her bad attitude all this time before knowing she is the wife of a class mate and a good friend . My bad. It would've been an embarrassing moment😒 I learnt that in today's interconnected world, you never know when showing empathy and appreciating others could lead to meaningful opportunities or connections. It is crucial to pay attention to respecting everyone in our environment. every person we interact with has unique experiences, insights, and potential contributions that can enrich our lives. What you do for work doesn’t matter as much as #who you do it with. Work is tremendously fulfilling when done with great people.
