🤷♂️ I was doing it all the way wrong. Do you also create an autolaunch flow manually to convert a record trigger flow ?
Today, I'm sharing a step-by-step guide on how to transform your Record Trigger Flow into an AutoLaunch Flow.
Here are simple yet effective steps to achieve this:
- Create a custom Flow Variable of the same record (for instance, Case).
- Replace all the $𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 with your newly created 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
- Save this 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 into VSCode.
Moving on to the second part:
- Remove all 𝐗𝐌𝐋 𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐬 between the <𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭> tag except for <𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫> & <𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧>. - Modify the <𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥> & <𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥> tag value to match your new flow name.
- Deploy the metadata to your 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Remember, for related record update elements, adjust the flow logic by breaking it into single elements and follow a similar process.
Take action and watch your new converted AutoLaunch Flow ! 💪
Addition : Checkout the comment for much simpler way to achieve this. However you can use metadata api as well to get the work done.
