#DataCenter Prime, a global developer and operator ofdata centerstailored to the needs of hyperscale and wholesale enterprises, has officially launched its Los Angeles data center. Located at 4701 S. Santa Fe in Vernon, California, the facility, when fully completed, will offer 33 megawatts (MW) of critical IT power and has already been fully leased by two artificial intelligence (AI) companies. This achievement represents the successful culmination of an ecosystem and process coming together, delivering high-quality digital infrastructure amid rapidly changing market conditions, said Nicholas Laag, founder and CEO ofPrime Data Centers. Mr. Laag expressed gratitude to clients, the City of Vernon, project partners, and Prime staff for their contributions. He emphasized the companys commitment to supporting AI advancements in Southern California while positively impacting the local community. The Prime Los Angeles facility, named LAX01-01, spans three stories and 242,495 square feet, featuring an adaptive architecture that allows clients to scale workloads within the same data halls without significant modifications. Its infrastructure supports densities of up to 40 kW per rack with conventional air cooling, while liquid cooling can condition infrastructure operating at 120 kW per rack. Designed with sustainability in mind, the facility boasts low power usage effectiveness (PUE) and near-zero water usage effectiveness (WUE). Additionally, Prime will purchase Water Restoration Certificates from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation to offset 120% of its annual water consumption. Addressing the Energy-Intensive Needs of AI Mayor Judith Merlo of Vernon highlighted the economic and technological benefits of the new data center. The City of Vernon is thrilled to welcome Prime Data Centers to our growing community of businesses. This project creates both temporary and permanent jobs, generates tax revenue, and establishes Vernon as a hub for AI development.
