At a deflection of -35 degrees, the rudder revealed distinct flow separation zones, offering profound insights into its aerodynamic behavior. The lifespan of a centrifugal pump is significantly influenced by vibrations and noise. The paths through which fluid leaks between the impeller and the housing are crucial to the overall fluid dynamics and acoustic efficiency of a hydraulic pump. As the clearance of the wear ring increases, both the pressure pulsation against the sidewalls and the normal vibration speed on the volute's outer surface tend to decrease. In today's video, we will learn how to optimize the topology in terms of the number of blocks by removing the sheets of corners from the block structure. This method of delicately balancing the number of blocks and density in each block, aids in quicker grid convergence. This is also useful in cases where there is an upper limit in the number of blocks the CFD solver can use, or also in cases where the solver has its own partitioning algorithm.
