I think we're all looking forward to better weather, here or abroad. Perhaps it's no surprise then that travel sales are still strong; very much in keeping with McKinsey's view on European consumer sentiment. There are though real subtleties to all consumer behaviour as people trade down, save and then splurge. These sporadic splurges haven't been enough yet to lift UK retail sales but with sunnier days ahead of us, there's growing reasons for optimism.
