🏥 Hospital floors, especially in operating theatres and emergency rooms, face unique challenges. 🧪 Biohazards, such as bodily fluids, cleaning agents, and contaminants, make hospital floors dangerously slippery. The fast-paced nature of medical procedures increases the risk of slips and falls, leading to potential injuries for both staff and patients. GripFactory works closely with hospitals to provide anti-slip solutions that ensure safety and compliance with both the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS) and NSQHS Standards, including infection prevention and comprehensive care. 🛠️ Products like GRIPliquids and GRIPcoatings are designed to maintain safe, sanitized, and compliant floors for patients and staff.

Shenzhen Children's Hospital has installed our air purification and disinfection products to provide children with a safer and healthier medical environment. Our products use advanced purification technology to effectively remove harmful substances such as viruses, bacteria and PM2.5 in the air, significantly improving indoor air quality. The hospital management said that after using our products, the working environment of doctors and nurses has been significantly improved, and child patients also feel fresher and more comfortable air during medical treatment. At the same time, this measure further strengthens the hospital's emphasis on infection control and safeguards the health of children. We look forward to working together with Shenzhen Children's Hospital to protect the healthy future of children. #AirSterilizer#AirPurifierForHospital#MedicalAirPurifier#AirPurificationSystem#AirDisinfectionSystem#AirFilter#AirPurificationDevice#AirDisinfectionDevice#AirSanitizer

hand hygiene must include the wrists
We recently attended a NHS Trust IPC Study Day & were reminded as to the importance of hand hygiene. Thought it was relevant to share this Best Practice Guidance from UK Health Security Agency. Its essential we follow this to prevent infections from spreading unnecessarily. For any infection control improvement measures regarding, environmental cleaning, clinical decontamination, water treatment or biofilm removal, please reach out on: sales@hoclhealth.co.uk #infectioncontrol #handwashing #handhygiene #hocl #disinfection #decontamination #nhs #nursing

Imagine this: you’re in the middle of a busy shift, changing IV fluids for a patient. You’re told, “No need for gloves this time.” But what if something goes wrong? If you need to check the patency of the cannula, what then? As nurses, we often face situations where safety protocols are overlooked due to workload or hospital policies. However, personal protective equipment (PPE)—like gloves, masks, and headcovers—isn’t just a formality; it’s essential for our safety and the safety of our patients. Let’s prioritize our well-being and commit to infection prevention. After all, we can’t care for others if we don’t care for ourselves first. Happy International Infection Prevention Week!!! #InfectionPreventionWeek #AspiringPublicHealthAdvocate #ApsiringPublicHealthNurse #PersonalProtectiveEquipment

Did You Know? 🩺 Infection control is not just about hand hygiene or surface cleaning. One of the most overlooked aspects is sterilization of medical instruments. For instance, glutaraldehyde, a powerful disinfectant, is used to sterilize medical equipment like endoscopes that cannot be autoclaved. However, improper use can be hazardous. It’s essential to follow safety protocols to prevent toxic exposure or ineffective sterilization. Small details like this can make a big difference in preventing the spread of infections and improving patient safety. Always stay informed, stay safe! #InfectionControl #HealthcareSafety #PublicHealth #Sterilization #PatientSafety

Lets Get Floor Wastes into our Hot Topics In, Australia we need to examine global research to ensure safety and stay current. Recent updates in the UK have linked the location of floor waste drains to the spread of infection, prompting new guidance. As individuals with responsibilities under work health safety legislation, ensuring fitness for purpose and infection control, I encourage designers of wet areas to consider the appropriate placement of floor wastes. This should be done while understanding the constraints related to falls and the challenges with adjacent fall planes.

Happy Healthy New Year Thomas. New Year - New Resolutions - New Solutions. Floor/Shower Drains and Location, so often dictated by aesthetics, floor layout, function usually ignored. So many dry out as they are in inaccessible or easy to forget locations. Not much has seriously changed in general Soil/Waste Systems Codes anywhere, for 70-100 years. The US codes are dictated by Unions and Manufacturers not by science or practice. The rest of the world just copy paste?? No real logical local inputs?? The Studor Active Vent System, probably the only credible change in the past 40 years, that's still in the industry slow lane. The 250 year old - "Water seals in traps>" are still currently the only barrier to protect indoors from the stuff in pipes. Water seals are water reservoirs harboring the opportunist pathogens, waiting for the opportunity to change status to infected aerosols or enter through damaged skin or open wounds. Simple HAI's just need that little helper. Since the days when we thought it was a wise move and bought our dodgy plumbing practices into our bedrooms from down the bottom of the garden. What do you think was going to happen next? Time to consider alternatives. I am from the Potteries where Potties were all the rage at one time. Those odors haven't changed, even with Sandalwood breezing through your hotel corridors :-)) Let me know if I can tempt you?? **Why In-Between Cleanings Are Critical in ERs** After spending over 5 hours in an ER today, I couldn’t help but notice the importance of in-between cleanings. While I empathize with the nursing staff trying to manage patient turnovers amidst a constant flow of incoming cases, skipping or rushing through these essential steps puts everyone at risk. In ERs, where infection control is paramount, proper cleaning between patients is the first line of defense for safety. Every patient deserves to enter a sanitized environment, and healthcare workers deserve the tools and time to maintain these standards without compromise. Ensuring thorough cleanings can save lives and prevent the spread of harmful pathogens. If your facility is interested in a 3rd-party inspection, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to offer industry-standard observations and suggestions to improve your cleaning processes. Let’s prioritize safety and care by recognizing the value of in-between cleanings in critical healthcare settings. #HealthcareSafety #InfectionControl #PatientCare #ERStandards #CleaningExcellence #Davolt Kimberly Davolt

In accordance with NFPA 101 (2012 edition), strict codes are established for the storage and use of Alcohol Based Hand Rub (ABHR) dispensers in healthcare settings to minimize fire hazards while ensuring effective infection control. These codes mandate that ABHR dispensers must be installed in a manner that adheres to specified distance requirements from sources of ignition, proper signage, and maintenance protocols to prevent spillage and ensure safe usage. Additionally, the total quantity of ABHR allowed in any one area is limited to mitigate potential fire risks, thereby balancing the need for accessible hand hygiene solutions with the safety of patients, staff, and visitors within the facility. Compliance with these regulations is essential for maintaining a safe healthcare environment.

IAPMO and ASSE understand the value of professional qualifications. The CIPP industry is working with ASSE to establish minimum professional requirements to raise the bar on the quality of plumbing pipe CIPP installations. Far too many contractors ignore the Master Code requirements for professional licensing, permitting, product certification, and approved scope of use. Far too few Code Officials have sufficient expertise with CIPP to understand proper applicability for use and adequate inspection criteria to ensure as-built compliance with the Master Codes. Raising the bar on quality assurance will ultimately grow the CIPP industry.
ASSE professional qualifications standards set minimum education and experience requirements for professionals who test, install, inspect, and maintain building systems. These standards are developed and revised through industry consensus under the ANSI Accredited standards development process. The ASSE suite of professional qualifications standards includes those for backflow prevention, fire protection, medical gas, water quality, infection control, and rainwater harvesting all supporting ASSE’s motto, “Prevention Rather Than Cure.” Join ASSE International and get involved today at https://lnkd.in/g_WTnzWe.
