Meta's New Moderation Policies: What Small Businesses Need to Know Inside Small Business has shared an article discussing Meta’s recent changes to its moderation policies, which have raised concerns about brand safety and credibility. With the removal of fact-checkers and fewer content restrictions, businesses may face challenges around trust—especially with the rise of AI-generated content. As Shannara Goddard, Marketing and Events Manager at #Groei, highlighted, "The reduction in fact-checking is concerning, especially with the rise of AI-generated content and imagery. It makes it harder for people to trust what they’re seeing, which could be a real issue for businesses trying to build credibility online." 🚨 **Big Changes at Meta. Some significant updates from Meta are stirring up the digital marketing world. They've decided to remove the product set selection from Advantage+, leaning more heavily into AI-driven decisions. What does this mean for us as advertisers? 📊 **Enhanced Catalogs Are Key With these changes, the importance of having an enriched catalog cannot be overstated. Graphics, star ratings, testimonials, and user-generated content (UGC) imagery are now more crucial than ever. Since we can't select specific products for our ads anymore, ensuring every item in your catalog is top-notch is vital. 🤔 The Future of Targeting on Meta The discussion continues around interest and lookalike targeting. While some speculate that these might be phased out in favour of broader targeting methods, the consensus is that they’re here to stay for now. But, it's an evolving conversation worth keeping an eye on! 💡 Strategising in the New AI-Driven Landscape These shifts highlight the increasing role of AI in shaping how we reach our audiences. It's a reminder of the dynamic nature of digital marketing and the need to adapt our strategies continually. 🔄 No Workarounds, But a Call to Adapt Currently, there’s no workaround to bypass these new limitations. This move pushes us to trust the system’s AI to make the best product selections from our catalogs. It’s a bold step towards more automated, intelligent advertising.

We're getting updates to AI-generated text for Facebook ads... Meta announced a bunch of AI-generated enhancements recently. While image generation will get the most attention, do not sleep on these text generation updates. 1. AI-Generated Headline Suggestions: While providing text when creating your ad, Meta automatically suggests AI-generated alternatives for primary text. This will now be available for Headline text as well. 2. Matching Brand Voice and Tone: Most importantly, Meta is making a very big improvement: “...we are currently testing the ability for the generated text to reflect your brand’s voice and tone, by highlighting key selling points based on your previous campaigns and text input.” YES! This is why I never use the AI-generated primary text options. They never sound anything like me, and that’s a potentially huge brand problem. The fact that the AI will learn from text in previous campaigns to reflect your voice and tone is a big deal. These features have started to roll out, so check to see if you have them.

Congratulations to Yingying and the Kitsch team for their Meta Business News showcase! "Creative Diversification" is by now established in the performance marketing industry's lexicon, but very few teams have figured out how to operationalize it such that it fuels insights and growth for their business. Kitsch has done just that. Add in an ever-growing, rigorous test & learn bank, complete transparency between our teams, first movers on AI solutions and some genuinely good people (lookin at you Jeremy,Yingying, Carly, Zara & Lexi) and you get a company like Kitsch that is blowing up, and a textbook example of how an integrated partnership with Meta can be a growth driver for businesses.
