🚸 Back-to-School Crosswalk Safety Reminder! 🚸
As schools reopen, ensuring the safety of children walking to and from school is essential. Ruby Bridges, a civil rights icon renowned for her bravery and advocacy for educational equality, inspires us to prioritize safety in school zones. To support this mission, AAA Mountain West Group has partnered with the Ruby Bridges Foundation to host another year of Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day in November which underscores the importance of crosswalk safety.
Here are a few key back to school reminders to help keep our students safe:
🛑 Slow Down in School Zones: Speed limits are reduced for a reason. Stay alert and drive cautiously.
🚶♀️ Yield to Pedestrians: Always stop for children and crossing guards in crosswalks. They have the right of way.
👀 Stay Focused: Eliminate distractions like texting or eating while driving near schools or bus stops.
⏰ Plan Ahead: Give yourself extra time during school hours to account for slower speeds and increased pedestrian activity.
Stay tuned for more as we approach RBWTSD!

We love the cover of our third July #CaptivatingCover! This month, Hillsborough Living features student council president Matthew Lin from Crocker Middle School.
Yesterday saw day one of this year’s ‘CORE Futures’ drop down day, encouraging students to look beyond the academic curriculum and reflect on their own personal development.
The day kicked off with our student ambassadors pitching for votes to be elected at SWB’s representative for Ormiston Academies Trust regional student voice.
To watch students speaking to a lecture theatre full of 250 staff and students with such confidence was so inspiring! We look forward to the future drop down CORE days which we have planned, including trips to London, the seaside as well as some incredible external speakers to develop and inspire our students.
Boys fail or succeed
to the level of their male role models.
💎
The incredible story of Arsenal legend Ian Wright, reuniting with his teacher is a powerful reminder that, as it comes to boys:
- Male teachers are critical
- Male figures can be nurturing
- Male elders mentor boys into purpose
This is why we need more men in early education and social services mentoring, and guiding young men into adulthood.
🗝️
Older men hold the key into shaping mature masculinity for younger generation.

✍️ Do young men miss elders' guidance nowadays?
