The $740,000-per-unit closing price ranks among the top deals for the East Bay in several years, and is among the largest in Walnut Creek in the past decade, according to CoStar data. Walnut Creek has seen increased demand from renters in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, after residents living in cities like San Francisco opted to move to less dense areas, according to John Gillem, director of market analytics at CoStar Group.
