Kenya's Military Clashes with Al-Shabaab in Northeastern Region, Casualties Reported Heavy fighting erupted along Kenya's border with Somalia today, as Kenyan government military forces clashed with Al-Shabaab militia members in the Northeastern region. According to reports, the fighting began when Kenyan troops conducting operations along the border came into contact with Al-Shabaab fighters who were stationed in the area. The ensuing battle lasted for several hours, resulting in casualties on both sides, according to local sources. Kenya has been targeting Al-Shabaab, a militant group that primarily operates in Somalia and frequently launches attacks against Kenyan border towns. In recent times, Al-Shabaab's attacks in the Northeastern province and Lamu areas have intensified, prompting Kenya to deploy additional military forces to the region to ensure national security. The Kenyan military has been actively engaged in operations against Al-Shabaab in Somalia, where it has troops stationed to combat the militant group's presence. The latest confrontation highlights the ongoing struggle between Kenyan forces and Al-Shabaab militants along the border, which has remained a volatile and high-risk area in recent years. https://lnkd.in/exhD-qcE

Forty-three countries around the world still have a monarchy — and while sovereign rulers are typically very wealthy, some are far, far richer than others. Using a ranking by The Business Standard, Visual Capitalist visualized the top ten richest monarchs in the world. The wealthiest monarch overall is Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who's worth a staggering $43 billion, thanks to investments in Bangkok real estate and ownership in both the country's largest cement company and bank. Ranking second is Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei, with an estimated net worth of $28 billion. The joint third-richest rulers are Saudi Arabia's King Salman Abdulaziz bin Saud and Abu Dhabi's Emir Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who both have a net worth of around $18 billion.

I am delighted to announce the publication of my political article in the Irrawaddy-Burmese Edition. This article delves into the profound connection between Burminization and the Myanmar military. Furthermore, I argue that Burminization does not directly affect the majority of Burmese ethnic groups; rather, it is a form of propaganda perpetuated by the military regimes. Additionally, I would like to emphasize that the historical origins of the Myanmar military can be traced back to the fascist regime of Japan. This is the reason why the military has been responsible for human rights violations and war crimes throughout the entire country. When comparing the interests of the military, it becomes evident that the military is an organization that lacks the obligation to engage in the brutal destruction and killing of the Burmese population. https://lnkd.in/gtMtFUZ8
