"Choosing a Math Teacher: Focus on Expertise, Not Ethnicity. Qualifications, Teaching Skills, and Passion for Mathematics are What Truly Matter." It's important to note that discriminating between individuals based on their nationality or native language proficiency is not ethical or acceptable behavior. Math teachers, regardless of their nationality or linguistic background, should be evaluated based on their qualifications, expertise in mathematics, teaching skills, and ability to effectively communicate mathematical concepts to students. The focus should be on finding the best math teacher for the job based on their qualifications, teaching abilities, and dedication to helping students learn and succeed, rather than on factors such as nationality or linguistic background. Discrimination based on such factors is not only unethical but also undermines the principles of equality and fairness in education.

42 Primary Spelling/Maths Books published by Educational Publisher, ‘Topical Resources’. Creator of ‘Fast Maths’. Teacher for 34 years. Freelance SLE (Specialist Leader in Education), still do real teaching and love it!
So many primary schools teach ‘comprehension’ most days, yet, by a long way, not all children reach the expected level at the end of KS2 - let alone attain at greater depth. It is important that teachers don’t think that once children ‘know’ phonics, reading fluency is nailed. We’re far less than half way there! Approximately 50% of words aren’t phonetic. Children understanding and knowing the nuances of how non-phonetic words are pronounced (with links to their derivations) cannot be underestimated. Prosody - the understanding of how to apply the patterns of stress and intonation in a language…needs to be learnt and applied, so that children can read the words of a text one after the other and make meaning. Sometimes we say, “Read with expression!” but are children clear what we mean? Is it the comprehension of a text that children struggle with - or is it reading the text for themself with understanding that hinders attainment?
