I am privileged to serve as a Board Member for Thrive Scholars Chicago, an organization whose bold vision and significant impact on reshaping the futures of high-achieving students instantly captured my interest. The aptitudes of these students are exceptional, and they have the capacity to excel. However, they commonly face unmerited challenges due to limited access and support. Imagine if we could remove some of these barriers and offer a fair pathway. I’ve personally had the privilege of accessing educational opportunities that aided in my professional success, leading me to ponder – what if my circumstances were different? How would my path have changed? Consider your own path and the support /access you’ve had along the way, and examine your own “what- if” reflections. If this mission speaks to you, I'd be thrilled to have your support. There are various ways to participate, including:1) Making a donation, 2) Volunteering your time, or 3) Joining our Campaign Committee. You're welcome to engage in one, two, or all three ways! For my fellow Chicagoans, this is our chance to help our city flourish, creating a supportive space for all of our families. Supporting this initiative means forging significant, collective change - for all of us. Ready to make a difference with me? Check out Thrive Scholars Chicago’s fundraising campaign below, aiming to empower 600 local students to achieve and succeed by expanding their capabilities. https://lnkd.in/gzFPsP-h #ThriveScholars

What a great event! The 15th Annual TWU Golf Outing was a rousing success. Union members care and want the best opportunities in life for their children. Our sponsors (Independence Blue Cross and United Concordia Dental) have supported these efforts to provide scholarship opportunities for the last 15 years. Each year at least 10 receipents recieve a college or trade school scholarship. We are enternally grateful. However, what about health equity and necessary work to eliminate health disparities? How do we address the life expectancy in specific zip codes such as 19121 or 19146 or 19131 to list a few? What's being done to address chronic condition such as asthma and obesity? Summer is fast approaching. Where are the sponsorship of gymnasiums or expansion of recreation center hours or corporate (partnership) hiring of life guards for pools? What about sponsoring summer basketball leagues at the local Big 5 universities? What about eliminating food deserts within these zip codes? More can be done to help eliminate the long list of things that negatively impact our collective community.

Back in 2018, I first started to think about how we could get textbooks sitting unused in a class cupboard in London shared with a cash-strapped school in Yorkshire. After five years of hard graft, School Resources Exchange properly got going last year. While it has been challenging to say the least, it's also pretty amazing to be starting 2024 with a live service that is already being used by and helping hundreds of schools. The focus for this year is simple - help more schools. What we're doing is a no-brainer. It's a free service which can benefit every single school in the UK. The impact of sharing surplus items between schools is a genuine game-changer on so many levels. If you know someone connected to a school - a staff member, parent, governor, etc - be sure to tell them about us as it really could help them out enormously. 👇 The short video explains exactly what we're doing and how the service - a nationwide schools' circular sharing community - can benefit every single school in the UK. #schools #schoofunding #schoolresources #schoolbudgets #circulareconomy #communityimpact #secondaryeducation #primaryeducation #teachers #headteachers #slt #schoolbusinessmanagers
Last year our focus was on launching. This year we're excited to be growing our community and working in partnership with lots more schools. If you know someone who works in a school then be sure to tell them about us.

🔥 Igniting Change: Uniting Missouri and Arkansas for Impact! 🔥 From the heart of Missouri to the vibrant communities of Arkansas, we're embarking on a journey to ignite change and build a brighter future together! Just yesterday, we unveiled our latest marketing efforts for the upcoming YAW events in both Missouri and Arkansas, and the response has been phenomenal. As a Hispanic woman business owner and one of the 100 entrepreneurs making waves, I am profoundly moved by the support pouring in. In Missouri, the excitement is palpable as we rally behind our cause, with guest speakers ready to lend their voices and efforts underway to secure the perfect venue. Change is happening because we believe in the power of collaboration and the dream of empowerment. Meanwhile, in Arkansas, anticipation grows as we work to connect with all those who share our vision. Although we haven't reached everyone yet, we are confident that together, we can create a brighter future. With guest speakers on standby and efforts underway to secure the ideal venue, the momentum is building. Let's bridge the gap between Missouri and Arkansas, harnessing the spirit of collaboration to ignite change that will reverberate throughout both states. Together, we're building a force for impact that cannot be ignored. Change starts with a dream, and together, we're making it happen in Missouri and Arkansas. You said Collaboration Michelle Gardner-Ince Business Strategist-Champion-Speaker 😉 this is what Aha! Workforce Education Solutions LLC does under the U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship umbrella ! https://lnkd.in/gTTmgWgz #Belief #Dreams #Collaboration #Empowerment #YAWEvent #DreamBig #CommunityChange

Gino Wickman 's Traction argues that businesses are far more likely to succeed when all stakeholders can clearly see the values and objectives. This is true for schools too. In schools, this translates into defining a shared mission, vision, and core values that guide decision-making at all levels. They are shared by all. Educators, administrators, staff, and volunteer leadership can work together cohesively toward a shared goal, whether it's improving student outcomes, fostering a culture of innovation, enhancing community engagement, or all of the above.
