My journey into the transport and logistics industry actually started by accident. In the early 90s, I was working as an IT recruiter when the market hit a wall. The company I worked for owned a transportation division, and they asked me to help out on that side. At first, I thought: “All I’d be doing is talking to truck drivers - no thanks!” But curiosity got the best of me, and I gave it a shot. What I found was incredible - I fell in love with the ever-changing nature of it all, and I haven’t slowed down since. At first, I shadowed a broker who was earning $85,000 in commissions per month (yes, per month!), and it hit me - this was an industry with endless opportunities for growth! Over the next year, I immersed myself in every aspect of the business: brokerage, supply chain, warehousing, intermodal - you name it, I learned it.
