Quart. What inspired you to work in hospitality? My journey into hospitality wasn't exactly planned. I was a shy person until I moved to Canada by myself when I was 17. Since then, in order to adapt, I've become a people person. Plus, there's something about the energy of the hospitality world that keeps me hooked, especially being able to meet people from around the world, even get to travel as well. My goal is to be able to visit every continent before I get old! In today’s global environment, what qualities do you think define a truly inclusive leader? A truly inclusive leader has to be all about listening, empathy, and making everyone feel valued. It's like creating a big ol' potluck where everyone's dish gets a seat at the table. What’s an exciting project you’re currently involved in, and how does it connect to your cultural background or personal interests? I used to have a small Youtube channel, showcasing what my life in Canada is all about. My Toronto colleagues who know me know that I've always been interested in Social Media Management, so I'm planning these short videos showcasing authentic Vietnamese restaurants in Toronto. It's a way to share a slice of my background with the world in a fun and accessible way. What strategies do you use to maintain a healthy balance between your professional responsibilities and personal life? It's all about boundaries. I carve out sacred "me time" like it's my job. Whether it's hitting the gym, binge-watching Netflix, scrolling TikTok, or just spending time with loved ones. Does your family have any traditions that are especially important to you? Every first day of the Lunar New Year (exactly Jan 1st), it's this big feast where all members and relatives gather around the table at my grandparents house in the countryside of Vietnam, swapping stories and stuffing our faces with homemade traditional Vietnamese food. With respect to APID Heritage Month, what book/film/podcast/artwork/etc. that resonates with your cultural experiences and why is it impactful? One piece of art that really hits home for me is the film "Crazy Rich Asians." It's more than just a rom-com; it's a celebration of identity, family, and the complexities of navigating two worlds. As someone who's straddled multiple cultures, it's like seeing my own experiences reflected on the big screen. How does Ace differ from other companies you've worked for? What sets Ace apart? It's all about the vibe. It's this mix of creativity, hustle, and community that I haven't found anywhere else. It's like working with a bunch of pals towards a common goal, and that's something pretty special.

First in Town or Second in City Would you rather belong to the top tier of employees in a small company or the second top tier in a big company? Would you rather be the second choice in a big sports team or the first choice in a small team? Would you rather stay in 5- stars hotel or in 4- stars hotel?  Whenever I travelled on business I stayed in 5- stars hotels. However, and mainly when visiting a country for the first time, I preferred 4- stars hotels. The quality of services and recreation of 4- stars hotels do not match that of 5- stars hotel. However, the intimacy of local people I talking to them and building relationship with them in 4- stars hotels helped me understand the culture of the host country. It is the family spirit that made me feel comfortable. Working for big companies provides financial stability and greater growth opportunities than small companies. If you work for 4- star company you may get stuck in the same position for years, but also you enjoy the family spirit more. It all depends on what we want.
