Ex Sales leadership at Sendoso and WorkSpan I Founding USA GTM Hire I Motivated to continue making my dad proud from up above
Ever get annoyed someone reaches out about a job you’re “overqualified for”? It’s natural for our egos to be a bit taken aback…even if you have less of an ego than most. Here’s how I handle it, for whatever it’s worth. “Thanks a ton for thinking of me and trying to help out. At this point of my sales career, I’m focused on staying as (X) a mid-market AE/sales manager. Wish you the best in finding the right BDR. And happy to flag Y (company) to any potential top BDRs that I know.” And do the same if you’re under qualified. “Thanks a ton for the flattering note and context about Y (company name). With my background, I haven’t consistently sold into Z (Industry). My proven background is selling deals within sales tech, mar tech and HR. Is that a must have for your team or would you consider someone else if they check other boxes? No worries either way!” The candidate process becomes easier when you believe people intend to do well. Proving yourself as a candidate becomes easier when you operate from a place of transparency. #BensBest #Sales

Head of Sales at Map My Customers | Host of the Field Sales Leadership Guide Podcast | Devoted Husband | Father to 5 awesome sons
Yesterday, got to meet with a rare bird - an Outside Sales Leader filled with the following: 👉 Passion - for the product (their product can literally save lives) - talk about motivation! 👉 Passion - for people - helping his team reach their potential (he stinking cares that they succeed!) Mediocrity is not tolerated. 👉 Process - because he cares about the product and his people, he places a major emphasis on the processes that drive success. (Patient outcomes, revenue, commission checks for his reps) There were no passive traits in this dude's mentality at all. He hires tough. Trains tough. Carries high expectations of his team members. They succeed. Process wise, the requirement is face to face Customer Engagement. "If you're not in the field, you're not doing what we hired you for." This particular Outside Sales Leader is always searching for ways to equip his reps to get into the field and stay in front of Customers. Because that is what drives success for Outside Sales Teams. Get them in the field. Keep them in the field. #outsidesales

Such a powerful message Brian G. Burns So what if you missed opportunities due to shyness or low self-esteem. Don't let them define you. Analyse what caused the hesitation, build confidence, and actively seek out new chances. Sales, as with leadership is about overcoming anxieties and grabbing opportunities with open arms. Embrace the next open door, fuel your growth with lessons learned, and claim your rightful place in the spotlight. #leadership #helpothers #striveforgreatness #happydays

🚨 Who's looking for an enterprise/mid-market rep with a proven track record? Hi all, anyone who knows me knows that when I deeply believe in someone, I relentlessly advocate on their behalf. In this case, I have a sales professional who I’ve known for a while who is looking for their next challenge. I don't make such strong recommendations lightly. But in this case, I know whoever hires this individual will thank me down the road, because: ✅ He’s always been a top rep, with a history of consistently exceeding quota ✅ He's a hunter, skilled in net new logo acquisition ✅ He’s a hustler, and always has been ✅ He's a team player, who knows how to leverage the resources around him ✅ He can expertly navigate complex deals in both the enterprise and mid-market ✅ He thrived as a seller even when the technology he was selling became commoditized ✅ He landed his last company’s largest customer, closing the initial deal at $16K and growing it to $24M (yes, with an M) If anyone is looking (or knows someone who is looking) to bring on a rep who has been a regular attendee at President's Club trips over the course of his career, please send me a PM and I’ll provide more details, and if there's a fit, make an intro. #sales #hiring

Not sure if it’s time to bring on a new sales rep? Look for these signs: your current team is spread too thin, you’re missing growth targets, or you’re expanding into new markets. When revenue starts to plateau, it’s often a signal that you need more hands on deck. #saleshiring #scalingsales #salesreps #salesgrowth #peaksalesrecruiting

Hiring more sales reps as a first step to increase sales is a good way to tank your business. Your first step should be taking a look at your existing sales team. Are their calendars suffocated by demos? Is their pipeline unmanageably large? Is their close ratio as high as possible? Is the average deal cycle as short as possible? Are they crushing quota? Is their process replicable? Once the answer becomes yes to each of those questions, hire new reps. Until then, make the existing team as fruitful as possible, write it all down, THEN repeat it. Need growth + Hiring as a solution = Failure. What else did I miss here? Here's the first sales team I ever built! Throwback to my first door to door squad. This team CRUSHED. 🤝 #sales #salesteams #salesmanagement #hiring #recruiting #bdr #sdr #ae #multifamily #supplier
