As I sit at a Starbucks in my hotel lobby in Dallas, waiting for my room to be ready, I am excited for the week ahead. It is going to be one hell of an action packed week. I get to meet my entire team - Marketing, Sales, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Product, Support, Sales Enablement, Finance, Legal, and partners. Given that we hired quite a few people across the organization in the last quarter, it will be great to meet many of them for the first time face-to-face. We will acknowledge the achievements we have all worked hard for this year (strong double digit YoY growth!) while maintaining very good profit margins. Then, we will shift our focus to 2024 and strategize on where growth will come from next year. We will discuss how we will continue to strengthen our hiring approach so that every incoming new hire raises the bar for the rest of us. We will analyze if we are targeting the right verticals. We will scale our go-to-market with cross-collaborative POD sales team, so we will dive deep into how to operationalize successful POD teams. We will discuss ways to launch a new demand-gen flywheel to target the right Ideal Customer Profiles across verticals with the right message, via the right channels, to increase top-of-funnel and drive better lead conversions. We will discuss ways to grow our average deal size and focus areas to minimize churn. Last, but not least, we will discuss how to embed "taking moonshots" into our DNA - take calculated risks, rapidly test, learn, build new businesses, and deploy high margin new product offerings for the next 5 years that create market differentiation for us. To quote Conor McGregor: "We are not here to take part. We are here to take over!" So buckle up Forte! It's going to be an action packed week, and I can't wait!

1 month into my new role as VP of Sales at Hello Retail. I'm tired, when I get home. Because, I'm enjoying every moment. ↳ Eager ↳ Motivated ↳ Full of ideas Main actions... so far. ✅ Bought a giant gong ✅ Hosted 2 training sessions. ✅ Evaluating current tech stack. ✅ Met with countless of customers. ✅ Got to know the leadership team. ✅ Certified a new hire in doing demos. ✅ Implemented a 1 page business case. ✅ Got to know the team 1:1 and in team. ✅ Revamped the pipeline conversations. ✅ Implemented more individual coaching. ✅ Made waffles to kick start closing week. ✅ Recruited and hired 2 AEs starting 1. Oct. ✅ Fine tuning our sales playbook and process. ✅ Restarted Spin the Wheel for booked meetings. Everything made possible because of a cool team. Market is growing with tremendous speed. Future is looking bright for e-commerce. I'm excited to say the least! ↳ What should be my focus for my 2nd month?

VP of Ops of a $3 billion company. On a Sunday morning while sipping dark black coffee and listening to the birds chirp outside. $1.23m ARR in pipeline this quarter from outreach just like this. There are 4 things I look for to be able to do this. 1. A targetable ideal client profile 2. An enticing value proposition 3. A piece of high-value IP 4. Seeing the obstacles from both perspectives can help. I get why ops wants to tell sales people to “chill out!!!” But I also know why sales pushes ops to meet customer demands, feedback, trends, etc. The pressure is on for BOTH teams to deliver. Instead, of making it personal or taking it personally, get curious and ask more questions to understand the true roadblocks for each team. The moment folks make it personal is the moment that you’ve all lost the plot. I’d seriously love to get people’s real stories about this tension.
