Will you help ensure our microgrant program continues to thrive in 2025? At GROW, we believe that accessibility is essential for building inclusive community spaces, and our microgrant program is making a real difference. UpGarden is a great example, a recent microgrant recipient, used funding to install nine ADA-compliant rubber mats, enhancing the garden's functionality and accessibility. These mats create safe and accessible walkways for wheelchairs, walkers, and wheelbarrows, making the garden safer while protecting vital infrastructure from damage. Enhancements like these foster a more inclusive environment and allow all community members to realize their love for gardening. GROW’s microgrant program is made possible thanks to the generous support of our donor community. There’s still time to double your impact by making a gift to GROW today. Thank you for considering this important investment and for supporting initiatives that empower communities to thrive! https://lnkd.in/gKhAEN8K #donate

The Wirral Barn Owl Trust, founded in 1999, works to protect the declining barn owl population on the Wirral peninsula. After rising to 42 pairs by 2012, numbers have fallen again to 13 pairs, threatened by habitat loss and severe weather. Relying solely on donations, the Trust’s conservation efforts include installing nest boxes, monitoring owl activity, collaborating with farmers, and educating the public to secure a sustainable future for these iconic birds. In the latest round of Grants for Good, Wirral Barn Owl Trust has been granted £3,500 from John Good Group | Growing Businesses Together to help the charity with their current goal of replacing 25 damaged nest boxes with weather-resistant, eco-friendly boxes. Leading Firmrock Children Helper since 2016 has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. We started by supporting vulnerable children in Migwani with education, clothing, and basic needs, while also running programs in farming, tree nurseries, counseling, and community development. But when the pandemic hit, things became tough. Despite all efforts to keep our children's care mission alive, the lack of donors and mounting requests from parents for school fees and other essentials became overwhelming. As much as it pained me, I had to make the difficult decision to shift our focus. Our last children's project, led by R.K. Brooks and others successful fundraiser, provided school uniforms for over 30 kids. It was a beautiful moment that reminded me of the power of community support. However, I realized we needed a more sustainable path moving forward. That’s why today, I’m excited to share our new direction: Firmrock Agri-Water Initiative. We're focusing on sustainable farming and water solutions for dry regions like Migwani. Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and access to water is a pressing need. With your help, we can make a real impact. Here’s where we need your support: - We need funds for farming tools, seeds, and irrigation equipment. - We are seeking partners to help us create long-term solutions for water scarcity. - Even if you can’t donate, a share of this post could connect us to those who can. While we currently don't have a website, you can see some of our past activities on YouTube through this link https://lnkd.in/dTfNJwpa. I hope these moments showcase the work we’ve done and our dedication to building a brighter future for our community. Thank you for standing with us on this journey. #AgricultureForChange #WaterSolutions #CommunityDevelopment #SupportLocalFarming #Firmrock

Last but definitely not least in our Colorado Gives Day spotlight: Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) ⛰️ If you love Colorado’s great outdoors, you’re going to love what Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is all about. For nearly 40 years, VOC has been mobilizing thousands of volunteers to tackle projects that protect, restore and care for our state’s stunning natural spaces. From building trails to restoring wildlife habitats, they’re the boots-on-the-ground heroes keeping Colorado beautiful. But it’s more than just outdoor work — it’s about building a community that values stewardship and sustainability. VOC connects people to the land in meaningful ways, creating a ripple effect of care that benefits all of us (and future generations). We’re so proud to support VOC this Colorado Gives Day because protecting Colorado’s natural beauty is something we can all get behind. Ready to lend a hand? Every donation made now through December 10th counts toward the $1 million+ Incentive Fund. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/gY52S85F Let’s show some love to the trails, parks and wild spaces that make Colorado, well, Colorado. 💚🏔️ #ColoradoGivesDay #DoozyDonates #PowerTheFuture #sustainability #ColoradoTrails

I often hear from passionate folks that they don’t know how to have an impact on the issues that matter most to them. That they feel overwhelmed by obstacles and that their voice doesn’t make a difference. There are so many ways to raise your voice but the easiest, and sometimes most effective, is simply to donate to causes you care about. Your donations enable advocates on the ground to fight every day to make the world a better place. Giving enables doing. As you consider how to have an impact, I encourage you to consider some of my favorite nonprofits. They have all been vetted by me and I stand behind their mission and impact. Outdoor Alliance: OA is a nonpartisan coalition of human powered recreation nonprofits bringing the voices of bikers, paddlers, climbers, and hikers to national conservation policy. They have been central to some of the biggest national conservation and recreation wins of the last decade and are well positioned to defend public lands in the next administration. I am proud to serve on the board of directors and we are hosting a 1:1 $55K matching campaign this season. https://lnkd.in/gwevxQEa Western Resource Advocates: WRA works at the state level to craft conservation wins that exceed what is possible nationally. State-based conservation work is becoming increasingly more important, and I am proud to work for the Western Lands division of this great nonprofit. WRA is hosting a 1:1 $25K match this Colorado Gives Day https://lnkd.in/g9vdd-Vg Boulder Climbing Community: BCC is the boots on the ground. They restore the trails, protect wildlife closures, keep poop out of our waterways, and deepen the credibility of climbers nationally. I volunteer with this organization and served on their board for six years. https://lnkd.in/gEG6V4EX Community Food Share: This food bank supports my community and was integral to recovery after the Marshall Fire. While they are rad, I recommend giving to your local food bank. If you live in Boulder or Broomfield counties, this is your spot https://lnkd.in/gxWdyNyR Colorado Public Radio: CPR is committed to journalistic integrity. In an era overrun with for-profit news, they cut through the bullshit and hold government accountable. https://lnkd.in/g6fTuiJH Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains: My life was utterly transformed by Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. I will be forever grateful for the free and private access to birth control and medical help provided by this life saving organization. https://lnkd.in/gsR7aFvH The Women's Foundation of Colorado: WFCO directly supports countless local organizations improving the lives of women and families across Colorado. I support them because of their robust state policy program. If you like pay transparency or paid family medical leave, you have WFCO to thank. I volunteer with these folks. https://lnkd.in/ghgmWdM9

Well done
This year, in line with the 2024 Mandela Day theme, “Joining Hands, Connecting Communities,” our Johannesburg team came together to make a positive impact on the lives of children at The Johannesburg Children's Home. By donating toiletries and planting a vegetable garden for the children, the team demonstrated ERG’s commitment to building sustainable communities through collaboration. This initiative not only assisted the Home but also gave our team members the opportunity to learn valuable gardening skills. Well done to the Johannesburg team for embodying Mandela's spirit! 🤝🏿🌱 #MandelaDay2024 #ItIsInYourHands #67Minutes #JohannesburgChildrensHome #ERGAfrica #TeamERG #GivingBack #Community #CommunityImpact
