Leader of a family business and a former college football coach that helps businesses build virtual universities, and individuals get 1% better everyday.
“What do you guys teach for closing and the activities associated with it?” We don’t. That was the question we were asked by a prospective client. You can’t close people because you can’t make people do something they don’t want to do. So instead of wasting time teaching people to focus on something you can’t control, we teach the controllable. Creating connection. Identifying opportunity. Understanding fit. Providing value and education to create opportunities for people to say yes. We invest our time in opening, engaging, educating, and providing value, not closing. We don’t have to close, because the right ones do it themselves. Are you focused on closing or opening? Which one is more effective? #ontheballpresident #traininganddevelopment #personaldevelopment #profesionaldevelopment

Friends! We're updating our de-escalation training for 2024. What are some conversations that you're finding challenging to navigate at work - within your teams or with your communities? Are there any tips and tricks that you're often looking for? If you could shoot me a note or comment and let me know, that would be very much appreciated! #publicengagement #strategiccommunication
Is it just us, or are we all a bit crankier? Last year, Hilary Farson and I noticed that across our pubic engagement projects, even low-stakes conversations were increasingly tense. Our team is becoming ever-more adept at equipping our clients with tactics to meaningfully engage with their communities, even as conditions for our work get tougher and tougher. Our team is currently reviewing our De-Escalation Training for public sector teams with fresh eyes. What situations have you encountered you think we should include? Any specific new concerns or considerations you think would be worthwhile to add? Leave a comment with your suggestions! 👇 🙏

The most effective way to communicate technical information is treat who your speaking to with a professional level of respect. A lot of times people tend to talk down to people who don't understand the technology involved. You have to think like a trainer. You need to explain in a teaching fashion and not seem like they are below you because they don't know this information. Get feed back for which parts they understand easily and which things need more review.

Validating, proof reading & amending training content that has been translated from one language into another is the singular most painful, least enjoyable & unfulfilling thing I’ve ever done….until today!!! Might have something to do with my office space & working environment, which supplied me plenty of vitamin D & a sea breeze! All joking aside, I’m after some thoughts from those in my network from a coaching & development background⬇️ Training content🤔 ❓How many visuals (slides) is the optimum number for a full day of learning? ⁉️How many slides is considered too much? Timing ⏱️ ❓How much time is considered the sweet spot to gain engagement & buy in that leads to effective, embedded thoughts? ⁉️What is considered too much & pushes into boredom & overkill? Charlotte Jeffrey-Campbell, Jason Cannon Elite performance coach, Julian O'Dell & Jo Bourne would love to hear your thoughts?

Happy (late) teacher's day. A simple one today: Open your mind. We constantly learn-unlearn-relearn. If you go into a situation thinking that you already know the result then guess what - you're not going to get anything from it! The best managers go into situations expecting potential to arise and work with that potential. The worst managers go into situations waiting to tell people the right way to do things. So - what is your working style? Where have you found potential in unexpected places?

From a burnt-out personal trainer working 3 jobs…with no stability or security of income… To making an impact with 100s around the world, producing high quality work he loves, and mentoring coaches in our team… Most coaches and trainers can never take a holiday - either because of a lack of systems, or because if they don’t work, they don’t get paid. At RNT, it’s different. You can build a genuine career doing what you love, from anywhere in the world, with the peace of mind that comes with a permanent position. Listen into what Coach Ivan has to say about his journey with us… and if you’d like to apply for a role here, click the link in the comments below.

There's nothing worse than working hard on a keynote speech or presentation that feels like you're on fire when you share it, but falls flat once you make your offer. Here's 4 simple steps to start turning that boverwhlem into desire to work with you. Focus on emotions over facts: Making big decisions like buying a high-ticket product or service is much more an emotional process rather than logical. Often experts avoid emotions and emphasize their knowledge because they don't know how to properly use emotions when speaking. Teach with testimonials: Instead of saving all your clients stories until the end when you make your offer, add them into your teaching and use them to show how your clients have taken what you're talking about and become successful with it. Know your audience: Understand their problems and desires... but also the emotional impact of those problems. The fears, desires and limitations associates with those problems. Tailor your stories and teachings to speak to the those problems and associated feelings. Connect to a bigger purpose: Showcase your values and vision for a better world within your stories and teaching, let us know you care about more than making the sale. This allows the audience to resonate with those values and connect with that bigger picture, which builds trust and meaning. Want some help with this? Send me a message and discover the biggest opportunities to improve your teaching, stories and conversions.

Speech-Language Pathologist | Private Practice Consultant | Creator of the Start & Grow Your Private Practice Programs | Author | Business Coach for SLPs & OTs | Podcast Host | Speaker
In order to grow your private practice, you need a team. Continuing to wear "all the hats" only works for so long. At some point, you're going to need to grow your team if you want to grow your practice. BUT... How do you do that? How do you find competent and willing employees who share the same values you do? And once you find people, how do you KEEP them? It's time to step into a leadership role. You need to be the leader your company needs you to be. You need to instill values and a culture that will allow your private practice to operate how it needs to. Being a leader is all about communication. (Something you know a thing or two about, right?) Sure, I can teach you all of the legal aspects of hiring, where to post job ads, interview questions to ask, how to onboard people and even how to fire people (that's all covered in Grow Your Private Practice) BUT - Until you commit to being the leader that your (future) team needs you to be, you won't have that dream team you need to take your private practice to the next level.
