There are a lot of benchmarks on the length of B2B customer journeys out there.📆 But do you know how long your customer journey is? Dreamdata says 192 days from first touch to customer on average in B2B. That's fine, but it probably varies a lot from industry to industry and company to company. How useful is it for you, if you don't know if it applies to you? At CyberPilot we see an average of 292 days. Way longer than the benchmark. Next question? What do you even use this number for? Two things. 1. If you do a new top-top-funnel initiative (demand gen, awareness, call it what you want). You can't evaluate it after 30 days. You simply have no way of knowing if it works. You can look at indicators through other metrics, but you can't know for sure before the customer journey length is completed. Indicators are important though. Ain't nobody got time to wait 292 days. 2. Now you have a baseline instead of a benchmark. You can try to shorten the customer journey. If you do better content, if you answer people's questions etc. You can shorten the length of the customer journey. It might never reach what we see in B2C, but it can be really valuable.
