Afghanistan beats Pakistan in Cricket Match In a outstanding performance, a novice team representing Afghanistan won the match against the seasoned team Pakistan in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 match at Chepauk stadium, Chennai. When the whole of India was supporting Afghanistan as they needed a lot of encouragement and support, a small group of Dravidian politicians were not just supporting Pakistan, but organised the stadium with Pakistani ‘supporters’, came to the stadium dressed in Pakistan team shirts, waving their flags. Nothing wrong but what else did they do? They appointed police to grab Indian flags that audience brought and trashed the Indian flags. In our own country, our own flags were disrespected. Why? Their reason is the Pakistanis will be offended seeing Indian flag being waved. They will not feel welcomed. The two teams playing were Pakistan and Afghanistan, why should anyone hold an Indian flag? Why not? The game is being played in India! Most people have only Indian flags in their homes. This is another example of pseudo-secularism. Trashing our own flags to show support to Pakistan. There’s no reason to degrade ourselves to elevate someone else. Afghanistan is also an Islamic country. They are ruled by Taliban. Not supporting Pakistan is nothing to do with Islamophobia but with being arch rivals to India in cricket and have waged wars against us. It was a proud feeling to see Afghanistan, a country that has experienced so much of turmoil and destruction, have a cricket team now! We welcomed the team and sponsored them. Yes, the great thing that happened was Afghanistan did not even have a sponsor! Amul, the Indian company came forward to sponsor the team to make sure they participated in the World Cup! Not only that their entire expenses taken care of by the Indians. It should also be mentioned that the Indian government has built the new parliament building for Afghanistan, and dam to ensure irrigation and water supply. Today, the government is doing as much as possible to develop the country. India and Afghanistan have a strong relationship based on historical and cultural links. India has played a significant role in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afghanistan. We believe that democracy and development are the key instruments to ensure that Afghanistan becomes a source of regional stability. (Mea.gov.in) Afghanistan was one of the countries that supported Pakistan during partition. But Pakistan and Afghanistan have border issues in Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Both countries have accused each other of supporting militant groups to create turmoil and violence on their lands. Whether one cheers for Afghanistan or Pakistan is not important, but why trash the Indian flag???

Now that the T20 Cricket World Cup(mens) has reached its Conclusive end it is imperative for us to understand the factors at play. Toss is going to be important but the pitches in West Indies especially Antigua have been much better than the curated pitches at USA. Afgahnistan is indeed the dark horse and South Africa will have to play a caluculated game like achess master if they are to overtake the Giant Killers. India again have played well so far but they need to undersatnd that each game is different, composition, strtegy has to cahnge as per local conditions. We have often seen India falter at the final step,it is important for Rohit to be clinical like with the Aussies. The innings of Rohit sharma proved to be the difference.Virat Kohli has not fired nor has Jadeja.Management needs to take calculated call understanding the pros&cons. The Indian think tank has to put its foot forward assidiously to avoid any tremors in the future.!! https://lnkd.in/dp-XrMFE

Busting myths of Indian cricket fans part - 2 “Indian cricket team chokes in ICC event knockouts” South Africa was termed as chokers because of their inability to win in must-win games after being in a very strong position. This was either because of crumbling under pressure or fumbling of easy chances. To list a few matches 1. Semi finals of Champions Trophy 2002 2. Semi finals of 2015 ICC CWC 3. Must win match against Netherlands in t20 world cup 2022 India, in this past decade lost matches in knockouts because the opposition used to be stronger (3 times out of the 4 semi finals we lost, the opposition went on to win the cup) or because we only relied on a handful players and when they didn’t perform we lost matches one-sided. In none of these matches, India was in a strong position. England and New Zealand were never called chokers. Even they were trophyless for several years. So no, India are not chokers and whatever the result is tomorrow, please understand the definition of choking before using it in a cricket reference. #cricket #t20worldcup2024 #choking #choke

Play to your strengths - A tale of two recent matches The cricket frenzy nations of #India and #Pakistan were watching the T20 world cup happening in USA and Caribbean. These two are seen as arch rivals, although the recent history shows that the results are dominated by one team, team India in blue. The media wants to milk the clash, and cash in on the hype and viewership of more than a billion people. This was pretty much similar to what happened in the recent Indian election one could argue. For me both these matches have many commonalities and some interesting corporate lessons : 1- Do not always go by the hype created by media as many a times the results can be anti-climax. 2 - A team that crosses the line is the winner in the end and that is what matters, there is no second prize in #politics, #competitivesports or #corporatesales. 3 - Play to your #strengths rather than hoping to take advantage of your opposition's weakness. 4 - In a #teamsport the performance of every player matters. One person alone can seldom help you win all the time. Every player needs to chip in when it matters. 5 - #Predictions are easy to make, but can often go wrong. Even those with a great track record can predict wrong outcomes. 6 - Even if things seem to be in your control do not become #overconfident. Assume things can go wrong somewhere in the journey. Try and win early enough and do not wait till the very end. 7 - #Winningisahabit and in crunch situations this helps you cross the line. As a strong supporter of Indian cricket team and Indian PM I see some similarities. But happy that the team who deserved won on the day.

If we talk of great rivalries in cricket at the moment, it doesn’t get better than India versus Australia. As usual, when they meet in a Super 8 encounter at the T20 World Cup in St Lucia, there’s a lot at stake for both these powerhouses of world cricket, each with designs on the coveted title. An Indian win could mean disaster for Australia, while an Australian success should be enough to make the last four with a superior Net Run Rate. Most suggest that this is India’s best chance to conquer what has been labelled their ‘nemesis’. If India can beat Australia, all Afghanistan would need to knock them out is a win against Bangladesh. That way, the defeat in the 2023 World Cup final could well be avenged. Rarely has an Australian side started a game as the underdog. Even more interestingly, neither the Australian team nor their media are contesting the tag after the defeat against Afghanistan. On the contrary, they are happy to let India start as favourites. Only time will tell if this reverse strategy of trying to put pressure back on the Indians is successful, and Australia bounce back yet again. Read: https://lnkd.in/g2vDgRQt

A beautifully written T20 world cup Commentary highlights on various teams by Ibrahim Sir.. Sir's Analysis on the emerging new teams like Nepal and Scotland is really Interesting. I haven't seen the matches but with Sir top notch analysis, I am able to understand how things went over there in the USA with regards to every teams. The Nature of T20 Cricket is unpredictable over outcomes, same like Robert Petrucci sir writes on High leveraged Trading in Forex . The excitement and vigour for T20 Matches especially from young people is mind-blowing. They are willing to pay ₹6000 Rupees ( $72 USD) for an IPL Match and many youngsters from my Town are eagerly traveling to Chennai or Hyderabad to watch IPL Matches. They don't like Test Matches by Being Subconsciously attached to the Match for 5 days. Instant Gratification is the new theme in today's world , and its true in cricket. There is a Heavy debate going on Social media about the future of Test Matches. It's due to the Nature of the fast paced world that youngsters are living in. Many Young people like reels , shorts and excitement. Cricket boards are now struggling to attract crowds for Test Matches.. Global cricket boards and Sports team owners also like T20 cricket as it mints money faster than other formats of the game , and also delivers opportunities for them to export the game everywhere As Ibrahim Sir noted precisely, the opportunity to include new countries into the cricket world will help the game develop beyond its traditional areas, but we have to see how the future will evolve from here regarding the nature and timings of the game. There are also 10 over Street local cricket clubs being developed here. But ,the death of Test Cricket 🏏 is a terrible blow to the International cricket fans , because we lived in the world, where we watched Test cricket even when We had exams .
