Meta just paid Trump $25 million. Facebook and Instagram suspended his accounts in 2021 after January 6th. Now they settled without admitting wrongdoing. Money talks. Power listens. But this runs deeper than one settlement... Meta controls up to 93% of traffic to major Pro-Trump websites since 2016. Think about that number. CONTROL OF INFORMATION shapes everything. A few facts worth knowing: • The Gateway Pundit testified to Congress about these policies • Missouri v. Biden lawsuit revealed coordinated censorship • Deep State manipulation touched multiple critical topics: - Hunter Biden Laptop story - 2020 Election discussions - COVID-19 origin debates - Vaccine conversations The settlement validates a simple truth: Social platforms wield UNPRECEDENTED power over political speech. And they exercise this power without oversight, accountability, or transparency. We face a reality where private companies determine which voices reach the public square. This settlement opens questions about: 1. Platform neutrality 2. Speech rights 3. Corporate influence 4. Democratic discourse The future requires better answers. Agree? Share your thoughts below. Interesting changes with Meta, some are mad and some are meh. In some cases the spread of misinformation could become an issue and on the other hand we may see less removals based on automated policies. what's your take? #meta #instagram #threads

Washington, D.C. – Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit filed by former President #Donald_Trump. The lawsuit, originally filed in 2021, challenged Meta’s decision to suspend #Trump’s social media accounts following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. According to the settlement terms, $22 million of the payment will be allocated to #Trump’s presidential library, while the remaining $3 million will cover legal fees and compensation for other plaintiffs involved in the case. #Trump’s lawsuit accused Meta of suppressing free speech and acting under government pressure when it suspended his accounts. The company justified the suspension by citing violations of its policies against misinformation and incitement of violence. #Trump’s social media presence was reinstated in early 2023, but the lawsuit continued as part of a broader legal battle against major tech companies. This settlement is part of a growing trend of high-profile legal resolutions involving #Trump and major corporations. In December 2024, #ABC News agreed to pay $15 million in a defamation lawsuit, also contributing to #Trump’s presidential library. Similar cases against other tech giants, including Google and Twitter (now X), remain ongoing. Meta CEO #Mark_Zuckerberg has reiterated the company’s commitment to free expression while maintaining its content moderation policies. In a recent earnings call, #Zuckerberg stated, “We now have a U.S. administration that is proud of our leading companies, prioritizes American technology winning, and that will defend our values and interests abroad.” The settlement has sparked discussions on the influence of #tech #companies in politics, with critics arguing that such financial resolutions could set a precedent for future disputes between social media platforms and political figures. #ZoistechSolutions #TechNews #SocialMedia #Meta #DonaldTrump #LegalSettlement #BigTech #DigitalPolicy #FreedomOfSpeech #SocialMediaRegulations #TechInnovation #DigitalTransformation #AI #CloudComputing #CyberSecurity #ITSolutions #StartupGrowth

If your Facebook account suddenly started following President Donald Trump this week, you're not alone! But don't worry—it’s not as shady as it seems. Meta says it’s all part of routine updates. Here’s what happened: some users noticed their accounts following Trump without any action on their part. Meta’s communications director, Andy Stone, clarified that the company isn’t forcing anyone to follow Trump, Vice President JD Vance, or First Lady Melania Trump. Instead, the official White House social media accounts were transferred to the new administration, which is a standard procedure. Still, it’s understandable why people might feel uneasy. Meta has been making moves to align with the Trump administration, including changing policies that seem aimed at gaining favor. What do you think about this situation? Meta to get rid of fact-checkers, turn Facebook into a kind of X for Trump - Meta is abandoning the use of independent fact checkers on Facebook and Instagram, replacing them with X-style "community notes" where commenting on the accuracy of posts is left to users. In a video posted alongside a blog post by the company on Tuesday, chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said third-party moderators were "too politically biased" and it was "time to get back to our roots around free expression". The move comes as Zuckerberg and other tech executives seek to improve relations with US President-elect Donald Trump before he takes office later this month. Trump and his Republican allies have criticised Meta for its fact-checking policy, calling it censorship of right-wing voices. Speaking after the changes were announced, Trump told a news conference he was impressed by Zuckerberg's decision and that Meta had "come a long way". Asked whether Zuckerberg was "directly responding" to threats Trump had made to him in the past, the incoming US president responded: "Probably". Source: Meta to replace 'biased' fact-checkers with moderation by users So apart from donating money to the Oligarchy, now there will be a kind of "free speech" where Trump amigo's and nutjobs can cry all they like whilst silencing actual intelligence. I wonder how fast people will leave FB for Bluesky. - https://lnkd.in/dXxCcQ_r
