Hi, this is John Miller from Grow Up Sales. Well, I have been blessed to have achieved extraordinary success throughout my banking career, but I've not done it on my own. I've achieved that success by working with my team. You see, banking is a team sport and if you want to achieve extraordinary success, it's important that you work together, that you collaborate with your immediate team and with other departments right across the bank. Here are 4 tips. To helping you create a winning team. The first step in developing a winning team is to 1st define and create a winning culture. All the successful sporting teams in history have been successful as a result of the culture within that organization, the culture within that team. The way people do things, the way people work together, they create an environment for success. So do you know how to identify and articulate your winning culture? Consider my very simple culture statement. Regardless of whether you are the team leader and aspiring leader or a team member, all of us are responsible for creating this winning culture. So consider this statement at ABC Bank. At my bank, we want our team to always feel What? How do you want every member in your team to feel every time they come to work? Once you identify those three feelings, then as a team and certainly as a leader, what are you committed to doing? What are you committed to doing? Can you complete this culture statement? Are you able to articulate your winning team culture? Here's an example of a culture statement that I've developed with other banks and ABC Bank. We want our team to always feel energized and lined and engaged. So our leaders are always committed to understanding their goals. People certainly would feel energised. We're committed to developing our team skills. That's how you enlighten your team, right? So they can do their job better. And we're always committed to consistently communicating. If you want to engage your team members, consistently communicate. So regardless of whether you're the team leader and aspiring team leader or a team member, let's all take responsibility for creating and defining our team culture. Tip #2 for creating a winning team. Be a captain and provide clarity regardless of your position within the team. Whether you are the team leader and aspiring team leader or a team member, act like a captain. What did great captains do? Great captains take the time to understand each individual team members motivation and goals. Do you know what motivates each person within your team? What inspires and what drives them? Do you know what their personal and professional goals are and captains? Then take the time to sit down with those individuals. And develop a strategy for success, a plan for success. So as a captain, make sure that you're taking the time to know about every single team member's motivations and then sharing tips and ideas. Mentor each other to achieve success. Tip #3 Be a coach, work together to build each other's confidence. You see, every winning team commits to training. They commit to regular training as a team, regular coaching. How often is your team meeting to develop your skills, your behaviors and beliefs? Sure, you may have regular team meetings where we're checking in on each other, but do those team meetings build each other's confidence? Are those team meetings training sessions? And I'm not just talking about product training and credit training. And compliance training. I'm talking about skills training, how to have better meetings with customers, how to ask for referrals, how to handle objections, how to better manage projects, how to better interact with your colleagues. So make sure that all of you as a team are focused and dedicated to regular team training and all take turns in coaching each other in leading the team training discussions. And finally, tip #4 and this is one of my favorite tips. Be a cheerleader. Consistently inspire each other. Every person in the team act like a cheerleader. Now, I'm not suggesting that we always need to be positive, but we always need to be inspiring and supporting each other. Look at all the great cheerleaders in the sport. Regardless of whether their team is winning or losing, they're constantly on the side. Fine, you know, fluffing their bomb bombs and chanting their cheerleading tunes and trying to inspire their team to victory. So what are you doing to consistently inspire your team? What's getting in the way? What's stopping you from consistently inspiring each others? So regardless of whether your team is having great success and you're celebrating that or whether your team is struggling, just make sure that each and everyone of you commit to being a cheerleader and consistently inspiring each other to. Focus on how you can become a winning team. Four simple steps to creating a winning team that are captured in this leadership excellence model. Culture, clarity, confidence, and consistency What type of culture do you want within your team? How are you providing and gaining clarity? How are you improving and boosting each other's confidence? And are you being consistent in the way you inspire each other? You see, regardless of whether you are the team leader and aspiring team leader or a team member, it's important that all of us except and acknowledge that banking is a team sport. So we all need to play the role of captain, coach and cheerleader. And when you get that right, you will create a winning culture and a winning team that that produces extraordinary results for yourself, for your customers and your bank. For more tips and ideas, please feel free to follow me on LinkedIn or reach out. I'd be happy to meet with you anytime. Good luck and let's go team go team. Cheers.

One of the toughest aspects of advocacy can be communicating effectively about complex policy issues in a clear and succinct way. And by that I mean, taking a topic that could honestly take hours to explain even to a PhD but doing so in under five minutes.
The average person isn’t and shouldn’t need to be in the weeds of every imaginable policy arena that could affect their daily lives. And yet we all, including policymakers, sometimes need to understand how a proposed policy could affect us in a very real way. Getting their attention, keeping it, and then ensuring they understand the "So what?" is the holy grail of policy advocacy in general, and a critical aspect of what we do at the medtech association in particular.
I say that because our task of communicating the impact of a policy proposal gets even more difficult—and even more important—when lives are at stake. That has especially been the case for our industry and the literally billions of patients worldwide who depend on sterile medical technologies every time they enter a health care setting, as we work to ensure the regulations surrounding this process are truly science-driven (and not politically driven).
I’m proud of our team for the hard work they put into taking a difficult scientific issue and in two minutes explaining the underlying science of ethylene oxide sterilization—and the essential role it plays in saving countless patients' lives: https://lnkd.in/dtUf7ZtZ
