It’s official: skinny fit (denim) is coming back. SCHIAPARELLI Miu miu, YSL- they all sent their models down the runway in intentionally tight clothes. I hope you have not forgotten the classic trickle down effect of fashion explained beautifully in Devil wears Prada. Just saying: in a few months time we’re all gonna be wearing uncomfortable denim wondering why are we doing it and why is it so tight - and we wouldn’t know the answer, just that everyone’s doing it now In my opinion the prime reason for Zara ‘s success is their extremely efficient supply chain. In a span of a few weeks I know I’ll see similar silhouette in their store because their designers are intently watching the runway making it a backbone to their designs. Success of any fast fashion brand lies in their ability to quickly replicate a market trend. Hence why I think to make a fashion brand successful one has to not just be creative but rather be a total geek about the distribution system and supply chain and market trend data. I discovered a small, family-run jewelry company last month that was having trouble making a name for themselves in a saturated market. They chose to highlight what set them apart: every item in their collection was crafted by hand using materials that were responsibly acquired from nearby craftspeople. Through emphasizing this in their marketing, they were able to quickly win over customers who were concerned about the environment. Their USP focused on promoting regional craftsmanship and sustainable practices rather than merely jewelry. Pandora LGD on the Met Gala red carpet. It would be helpful if Pandora revealed where it sources LGD. There were unconfirmed reports that Pandora sourced its LGD from Lightbox based on its sustainability claims which was identical to Lighbox’s manufacturing facility in the U.S. For reasons unknown even Pandora is not willing to share its sourcing practice despite an industry wide commitment to transparency and traceability. A lot of lip service and investment in technology. At the end of the day where the paint comes from should not exactly be a trade secret. Or is it ? Pandora is a listed company. It might become one of the largest LGD jewellery brand in the world. Why not set a higher standard ? Can someone from Pandora respond to this appeal ? I am a fan and not a foe.
