Sometimes trade shows can be more of a self-licking ice cream situation: not a decision maker or P&L holder in sight. So, businesses just stand around chatting to each other instead. It's taken me a little while to get around to digesting this great report from the Australian Loyalty Association and there are some great learnings for hospitality operators and their tech partners. Key takeaways - Points work - Loyalty and engagement programs work even in hospo and drive consideration higher than other categories - satisfied customers are great advocates for your brand - we need to work harder to reduce friction and improve the perception of the value of loyalty programs in hospo for our customers. I think the last point is where businesses need to challenge their own business operations and their tech partners to make sure they have the customer at the centre of their program design and implementation.
