The NRF show has finished, and I just saw this article from Retail Dive summarizing a talk by Lee Peterson of WD Partners. Slowing down at retail may be the right approach, even for the traditional CPG channels of Food, Drug, Mass, and Club. When I go to the store to pick out my items, like produce, I touch, feel, and smell the items to get the best I can find... or I get an alternate. This is just one example, but that exploration is what physical retail is all about. If that banner consistently has better selection and quality, it can win, whether slow or fast. What do you think?
