$BTC is down 17.5% from ATHs. The Fear and Greed Index is at 30 (fear). This illustrates the upside to come. But expect a lot of sideways nothingness this month as we approach FED rate cuts in September. August and September could have better track records (time will tell). #BTC #Bitcoin #Crypto

In order to understand the full picture of #Bitcoin bull & bear cycles, you must first understand the expansive and contractionary four year liquidity cycle of the US federal reserve, which has been in motion for years prior to Bitcoin’s existence. While the exact timing of both cycles can vary, bitcoins price pivot points align closely with the inflections in the central bank’s aggregated balance sheet, suggesting a correlation between global liquidity and Bitcoin price movements. It’s a liquidity cycle world, and Bitcoin lives in it. While the Bitcoin issuance rate is imporant, the global liquidity cycle is historically the true driving force and primary catalyst for Bitcoin bull runs.

With 1 year treasury bill yields pulling back to 4.8%, global liquidity is moving to risk-on allocation. This has lead to an influx of long demand for #Bitcoin. A simple basis trade on Bitcoin perpetual swaps is now collecting 75% annualised yield on USD. This is a level unseen since the 2021 Bitcoin bull market. I'm very bullish on crypto market neutral trades right now.

It is revealing how differently Bloomberg and the FT are reporting today's price surge in Bitcoin. The FT quotes European central bankers who are warning investors away from unstable crypto tokens with dysfunctional exchanges which risk destabilising the financial system. (Like the ECB is a paragon of secure long term financing structures). Meanwhile, Bloomberg at least sets out a causal explanation of the price surge with an understanding of BTC's limited supply function. But then it blows it by saying, 'The massive inflows into Bitcoin ETFs have prompted some industry watchers to warn of a looming supply squeeze as new coins from miners can’t keep up with demand.' Can someone explain to them that the limited supply function is not a bug, it is it main feature. #bitcoin #justsaying
