This month, 186 Law Enforcement Explorers from across the Greater New York Councils representing posts in partnership with NYPD, US CBP, MTAPD, DEA, and Homeland Security Investigations, participated in “All Night New York.” Highlights included exclusive access to locations around the city with visits to the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, the 64th floor of One World Trade, a visit to the 9-11 Memorial, a cruise on the Staten Island Ferry and an exclusive dance party at Grand Central Terminal! Today is International Volunteer Day and we take this moment to the thank the thousands of adult volunteers that dedicate their time, talent and treasure to make Scouting and Exploring possible in New York City. International Volunteer Day (IVD), 5 December, is an occasion to pay tribute to volunteers worldwide and to recognize the value of volunteerism in advancing peace and development. More than one billion people volunteer globally for solidarity and humanity, for people and the planet This year, the IVD theme recognizes the power of collective action: if everyone did. If everyone volunteered, the world would be a better place. #IfEveryoneDid

Candice Greenidge is the new District Executive serving the Pathfinder and Tomahawk Districts in Queens. Candice’s background is saturated in education and management. Her love and passion for teaching allowed her to travel and work with children internationally. Candice comes to us from the Department of Education, where she monitored and controlled Covid-19 in schools, worked to keep schools opened and created safe structured policies to prevent the spread. #leadership #queens #boyscouts #gnyc #newyorkcity

The Greater New York Councils welcomes Paul François as the District Executive for Lenape Bay and Breukelen Districts in Brooklyn. Paul is a recent graduate of Brooklyn College. Paul and his family come from humble beginnings and is grateful that as a family, they’ve worked hard to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
