For the past several months, I've been involved in leading a large global acquisition. It's been a mix of rewarding moments, challenges, fun, and sometimes overwhelming situations. Throughout, my team has shown incredible resilience, and I couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together. Today marked a major milestone - Day 1 of the new combined company. As the day unfolded with its share of unforeseen challenges and reflections on areas for improvement, a simple yet profound reminder came from an unexpected source. My 5-year-old nephew shared, "you know, people are just meat," what a great perspective and much needed humor after 14 hours of meetings. As we navigate through the complexities and intricacies of this new phase, I am committed to embracing the lessons from our experiences, focusing on growth opportunities, while also acknowledging that perfection is not the goal. 🎉 Happy New Year! 🎉 Before officially closing the books on 2023, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible leaders at Key Bank, Joe Skarda, Kevin Sloan and Solomon Schmidt, CFP®. They all leveraged my strengths in sales leadership, strategy and organizational development and together, in less than two years, we created an amazing new wealth management offering called Key Private Client. This new strategy not only elevated our wealth and retail team members, it delivered a new and fresh client experience that will continue to bring growth for the business. For those who know me well, I tend to get restless when I'm not faced with a BIG challenge or project, so when an opportunity arose late last year, I voiced my confidence in the decision to pass the baton to the next generation of talented leaders, my two #dreamteam leaders Ryan Martin and Rebecca Talley. Most people would think this was a CRAZY move considering I hadn't lined up my next job; however, I have known for a while that I wanted to have a greater impact ON the wealth management industry versus being IN the wealth management industry. I spent all of December reading books, researching business models, reconnecting with mentors, and relaxing with my family and friends for the holidays. On New Year's, I spent the day in LA with Brendon Burchard, getting intentional about designing my work to have an impact on the wealth management industry. This full day of personal and professional growth, coupled with the completion of an amazing book by Gay Hendricks called "The Big Leap," brought to the forefront my natural talent in problem-solving, creativity, strategic execution, marketing and designing growth strategies. Enter 9toThrive Pathway coaching and community! I'm excited for what's to come, as I know it will be a journey filled with next level performance, innovation, vision, and positive change. Starting a new VP R&D role is like getting on a rollercoaster. You get the role because you see eye to eye with the founders.
