« It’s not what weather will be but what the weather will do » That what was stated at the Workshop « Synergizing efforts: A collective national approach to EARLY WARNING SYSTEM in Lebanon » organized by Lebanese Red Cross, Disaster Risk Management Unit at the Predidency of the Council of Ministers, National Early Warning System Platform CNRS, and Lebanese Meteorological Department on Friday 19th of April 2024. Why Early Warning Systems are important? 1- Help detect and predict natural disasters. 2- Provide vital information to authorities and communities to take timely action to protect lives and property. 3- Issue alerts in advance to help reduce the impact of disasters and mitigate the effects. 4- Improve disaster preparedness and response effects, enabling efficient evacuation and resource allocation. 5- Contribute to save lives, minimizing economic losses and enhancing overall resilience in the face of natural hazards. 6- Enhance global resilience. The remarkable collaboration and unity driving Lebanon’s Early Warning System, catalyzing proactive measures on a national scale, it underscored the imperative for stronger governance support. #DRR #disasterriskreduction #earlywarningsystem #climatechange #resilience

Disaster Management… Hyperspectral Imagery is the solution for analysing the effects and after effects of any Natural or Manmade Disasters… Now the catch is…it just can’t penetrate or bypass the weather conditions like clouds or heavy rains plot heavy mist which usually occur during most of these natural Disasters specially in Indian AOR… Can SAR be the answer to these issues…Important question and soliciting answers…only practical or ground tested answers please

According to the World Meteorological Organization: 📳The damage caused by a disaster can be reduced by 30% if an #earlywarning is issued within 24 hours. 💰Globally, we could avoid losses of US $3-16 billion per year through #earlywarningsystems. In a world facing increasing risks, global organizations are sounding the alarm and emphasizing the four essential pillars of end-to-end, people-centered Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (#MHEWS): 1⃣ Disaster risk knowledge 2⃣ Detection, observation, monitoring, analysis, and forecasting 3⃣ Warning dissemination and communication 4⃣ Preparedness and response capabilities At Intersec, we can help you ensure real-time situational awareness, instant dissemination, and efficient disaster response.
