The #government has proposed new #guidelines to reduce the approval time for power connection for #ev charging stations. As per ET, the Ministry of Power and Energy’s draft revised guidelines on charging infrastructure for EV proposes that the approval time in metropolitan areas will be cut from 7 days to 3 days, and in municipal areas from 15 days to 7 days. In rural areas, the time will be reduced from 30 days to 15 days. The move is a huge advantage for companies such as Exponent Energy and BluSmart that have raised funds and companies like #Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited building #partnerships, and betting on setting up electric vehicle chargers on #petrol hubs across the country’s landscape. Saudi Arabia's Electric Revolution: A Model for the World 🚗⚡️ The focus on electric vehicles (EVs) is especially high in the context of Saudi Arabia, which is experiencing intense growth in the production of commercial vehicles. This transformation is supported by the National Transportation Solutions Co. (NTSC) through its decarbonisation plans, among other features. Electric and hydrogen vehicle adoption plan, known as the roadmap, which is supported by growth of the collaborations with key stakeholders in the transportation industry will enable government and private fleets switch to electric and hydrogen propulsion solutions. It currently operates an integrated fleet management software system known as DarbConnect that enhances the commercial fleet management system of the client’s company. However, there are still challenges that must be overcome to decarbonize the passenger vehicle segment, but Saudi Arabia has the desire in the framework of Sustainable Development concerning the commercial segment. #SaudiArabia #EV #electricvehicles #decarbonization #sustainability #transportation #innovation

Road transport electrification is set to have a huge impact on NESMA members. In an exclusive article for NESMA, Electric Vehicle Council Head of Energy and Infrastructure, Ross De Rango discusses the switchboard manufacturing industry’s awareness of the challenges and opportunities arising from EVs. Ross says the impact of demand from industrial and commercial transport, and of public high power charging, will have a profound impact on the switchboard and broader technologies produced by NESMA members to meet State and Federal government targets to increase EV sales to more than 50 per cent by 2030–31 and help achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. TotalEnergies and SSE create new EV charging brand "Source", will deploy up to 3,000 high power charge points across UK and Ireland: TotalEnergies and SSE have signed an agreement to start a new EV charging brand in the UK/Ireland, named "Source". Within the next 5 years, Source will deploy up to 3000 high power charge points - of 150 kW and more - grouped in 300 “EV hubs”, targeting 20% market share. Charging hubs will be in prime locations in and around urban areas and powered by renewable energy provided by SSE and TotalEnergies. Several hubs are already under construction with plans for dozens more, currently in development studies. Leading the decarbonization of transport in the UK & Ireland In the UK, Source will provide the reliable ultra-fast charging infrastructure needed across the country to meet the demand from EV drivers and fleet operators. This demand was recently triggered by the enforcement into law of the UK Government’s zero vehicle emissions mandate for all new cars and vans, raising power supply infrastructure for EV and fleet owners as one of the biggest challenges facing the decarbonization of transport. Similarly in Ireland, Source’s plans will help accelerate action to meet the government target of placing almost 1 million electric vehicles on roads by 2030, while building consumer confidence in EV charging. “TotalEnergies is proud to contribute to the development of electric mobility to decarbonize transportation in the UK and Ireland. ...
