It was a great experience to attend #TheLeanMindset in New York City this week with a select few of GE Vernova Onshore Wind’s key supplier partners. The broad range of industries represented truly reinforced, per Larry’s wrap-up, that Lean applies everywhere - or it can if you lead it. The consistency of core themes across speakers was what struck me most: 1. Understand what the customer values 2. Go and see where value is added and keep it visible 3. Standardize effort to what the customer values 4. Continuously improve focus of effort on what the customer values 5. Lead people engagement in the process Check it out!
Incredible moments from #TheLeanMindset event! Thank you to all of our amazing speakers who made this event an unforgettable experience. 🎉 Find highlights from the full live stream here: https://lnkd.in/emZHTmb2

1yThe 5 Lean Principles are nicely put together, similar to those defined by Dr. James Womack. I personally think organizations are very much focused on establishing the operations for normal flow, however do not dedicate the due attention on standardizing and visualizing the ABNORMAL flow. Every individual must be able to SEE the flow of value to the customer (normal flow) at a glance and fix it before it breaks. That can only be achieved when the abnormal flow is clearly distinguishable from normal flow, thereby increasing employee engagement.
