Did you know that EIT InnoEnergy directly responds to EU policy priorities? Watch Diego Pavia, CEO of EIT InnoEnergy, explain how EIT InnoEnergy is driving Europe's decarbonisation by leading industrial value chains in battery storage, green hydrogen, and solar photovoltaics. ⚡️🔋🌱 These initiatives are crucial in advancing the European Commission’s updated Industrial Strategy, which paves the way for a more sustainable, digital, competitive, and resilient European industry. EIT signed memorandum of cooperation with its three knowledge and innovation communities - EIT Climate-KIC, EIT Digital and EIT InnoEnergy. The MoC establishes that each KIC will continue to offer activities aligned with the EIT model (education, innovation and business creation) and remain part of the #EITCommunity as financially sustainable ecosystems, as their fifteen-year partnership agreements expire in 2025. The industrial value chain on energy sector plays a pivotal role in decarbonizing Europe and EIT InnoEnergy was the front runner back in 2018. Glad to have had a small contribution to regional start-up ecosystem back in the day while being involved in EIT InnoEnergy Romania Hub. As we navigate the challenges of energy transition, collaboration and innovation have become more critical than ever. Collaborative Innovation Leadership Collaboration for Sustainable Innovation in Offshore Wind Energy Ecosystems addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals demands innovative, cross-sector collaboration. Two key questions arise: 1. How can stakeholders transcend opportunistic self-interests to prioritize collective benefit? 2. How can new, sustainable innovations emerge beyond traditional practices? My research, centered on offshore wind energy innovation ecosystems in ports along the Baltic and North Seas, contributes to achieving UN SDG 7: "Affordable and Clean Energy." Findings reveal that when challenged on ecosystem value propositions, participants readily explore innovative solutions. 🌟 Watt-IS at the 1st General Assembly of ENPOWER in Vienna! 🌟 Last week, on May 28-29, Henrique Pombeiro, CSO of Watt-IS, had the pleasure of participating in the 1st General Assembly of ENPOWER in Vienna. ✈️ Organized and hosted by Blueprint Energy Solutions and OurPower, the event was a tremendous success. Over the course of two days, Watt-IS connected with fellow partners to discuss the significant progress made over the past nine months and to strategize the next steps for the project. 📊 Henrique had the opportunity to see detailed presentations from the ENPOWER pilots, showcasing their innovative work and plans to integrate the Technical Enablers provided by the project. After years of research, I concluded that building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) is the least understood and largest opportunity for innovators in the clean energy revolution. Why put solar panels on a roof when the roof itself can generate power? This dramatically lowers lifetime costs and takes advantage of every square inch of power available. This is an area RIPE for innovation and visionary startups. BIPV also includes solar windows, car ports, fences, solar paint, and more. Much of today's solutions just scratch the surface of what's possible, so I wrote Freeing Energy to highlight the incredible opportunities for the next generation of entrepreneurs, scientists, and investors.
