A fast-loading website is essential for providing good user experience and in improving your search engine rankings. Here are 5 ways to optimise your website speed: 🔸 Optimise Images: Large images can slow down your website significantly hence it is important to compress them without losing quality. Using modern image formats like WebP also helps. 🔸 Minify CSS, JavaScript, and HTML: Remove unnecessary characters (like spaces, indents, line breaks and comments) from CSS, JavaScript, and HTML files to reduce their size. 🔸 Reduce Redirects: Each redirect creates additional HTTP requests, which increases the load time. Minimise redirects by ensuring your site’s links are correct and using direct links whenever possible. 🔸 Optimise Web Fonts: Web fonts can slow down your site if not managed properly. Limiting the number of web fonts you use helps increase the website speed. 🔸 Prioritise Above-the-Fold Content: Load the content above the fold (the part of the page visible without scrolling) first to improve perceived load time. Use lazy loading for images and other content that’s below the fold to speed up initial load times. Optimising your website’s speed is crucial for keeping visitors engaged and improving your site’s performance. I believe that inclusive web design is going to continue to become more of a priority for businesses, but I understand that as people start to research what's involved, it can feel overwhelming. You'll see on my website that I have accessibility tools that allow my visitors to do things like change the size of the text, change the contrast and even underline links. Consistency is key and visitors presented with content and website functionality in a consistent format will be able to interact with your site more efficiently - and it doesn't take a lot of effort. For example: ✅ Keep your website navigation consistent across all pages of your site ✅ Standardise the size of buttons and icons... and fonts! ✅ Be consistent with the language and terminology you use ✅ Make sure anything interactive (like a form or scrolling) performs in the same manner across the site These tips won't add anything new to your site but could improve how someone accesses it. #WebDesign #Accessibility #LeadGeneration

🚫 Beware of These Common Web Design Mistakes! 🚫 Are you tired of wasting time and money on ineffective web design? Avoid these common pitfalls to ensure your website stands out and drives results: 📍 Who Needs Responsiveness?: Don't waste your time optimizing your website for mobile devices. Desktop users are your primary audience, so focus on making your website look great on larger screens. 📍Complex Navigation is Key: Make sure your navigation menu is as confusing as possible. This will keep visitors on their toes and encourage them to explore every nook and cranny of your website. 📍Speed? What Speed?: Who cares about loading times? Fill your website with high-resolution images and videos to give visitors something to admire while they wait. 📍Font Frenzy: Why stick to one font when you can use a different font for every paragraph? Experiment with a wide range of fonts to keep visitors guessing. 📍CTA? LOL: Forget about calls-to-action—they're just a distraction. Let visitors figure out what to do on their own, it's more fun that way! White Space is Wasted Space: Why leave empty space when you can cram every inch of your website with content? Fill every corner with text, images, and flashy animations to keep visitors entertained. 📍SEO? Nah: Who needs search engine optimization? Just build it and they will come, right? 📍Accessibility is Overrated: Don't worry about making your website accessible to everyone. If someone can't use your website, it's their problem, not yours. By following these tips, you'll ensure that your website stands out from the crowd—in all the wrong ways! 😉 #WebDesign #BadAdvice #JustForLaughs
